Lol, this is the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. If malware needs admin password during infection then the authors have been really incompetent and already failed. So anyone who gets active malware on their Mac only has themselves to blame. That's the big difference.
I've repaired Windows Machines where malware has made it through a resident top of the line anti virus, with the user having done nothing other than browse the web.
There is no such thing on Mac, you literally have to give it permission to install.
That malware gets past security mechanisms like antivirus software is not unheard of. This is how the security game is played and it is the whole point of malware development. Again, it's not different on Linux nor on Mac.
