So I'm running T6 on a 12-core Mac Pro with Yosemite and 40G of RAM and I find that Addictive Drums will not reliably and accurately play back MIDI that was recorded live, appearing to choke and play back fewer than half the notes that were played in. (though they all fired properly during the recording and all show up in the piano roll) Buffer and latency adjustments have no effect, (neither does reducing CPU usage by other means) and the only clue is a small triangle which said something about too many overlapping notes. I'm feedinhg Addictive from an Alesis D5 drum brain through a MOTU micro-lite MIDI I/F. The behavior is similar to the old T3 MIDI problem identified as debug mode being somehow turned on by default, only if anything, worse, though there are more dropped notes than timing issues, as with the previous version. Keyboards in several flavors seem to work okay, so I suppose it's possible that Addictive has started suddenly responding to false triggers, though not a single setting has been changed, re the pads, sensitivity, crosstalk, gate, etc. I'm sure hoping some tracktioneers have encountered similar or have some good suggestions?

I have similar issues with an Alesis drum kit (connected via usb) with Tracktion 6 (haven't tested it with T7 yet). I need to select all the midi notes and adjust their length to be a little longer. Then it plays back fine through any drum sampler. As it is all "one shot" type samples, it doesn't effect the performance.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion; I'm pretty sure the D5 doesn't send 'note off' info, so guess that could be the cause. I'll try it and report back.

Does this only happen with drum synths? Do other synths work if you play the sequence through them?

Most synths will send "note off" messages correctly.

I tried selecting all the notes and clicking the "Legato" button; it worked like a champ.Looks like this behavior may be unique to Alesis' D5 drum brain; it simply doesn't send "note off" messages. Odd that it worked okay in previous versions.

I had a D5 and had a similar problem in an earlier version Tracktion. The problem isn't that it doesn't send note offs, but that it sends them almost immediately after the note on and some plugins didn't like it. The workaround was similar - select all notes and set them to a specific note length.

Is this a problem with the MIDI sequences the plugins produce or that the plugins aren't playing back any sequences correctly?
It sounds like the MIDI sequences attempting to be played have extremely short lengths and the synths are just not recognising these correctly.
Has anyone tried a MIDI monitor plugin to see if both note on and note-off events are being sent to the plugin and if they are, how far apart (in samples) they are?
