Yes indeed, umlaute & ß are the problem. @u-he: I do have too many files with umlaute and ß, so if possible, please fixe this!

But: Just edited one project and I'm very happy about the latest presswerk version. It's now possible to set important paramerters like treshold & ratio more pricisely! The interface looks a little better: Just recogniced those little red lights on the bigger knobs. They help capturing the most important parameters in a quick look.

Thanks

Hi everyone,
just wanted to quickly mention that we'll take a look at your reported issues soon, we're just very busy preparing for the "Superbooth" event here in Berlin. When that's over, we'll be back.
Thanks!

This beta has been working good for me on Win 10 and Cubase 8.5.15, no issues with vst 2 or vst 3 versions, haven't tried side chaining though as I never use that, but I should test it. File converter works like a charm. Thanks for the UI update, it is a bit nicer to use.

Presswerk is a great piece of kit. I'd like if the autogain was off by default, but many others may prefer it as is, small thing for me really though.

Open presswerk, set everything up as you'd want it to appear right after you load the plugin, then save the preset with the name "Default" into the root ("Local") patch folder. :)

The file conversion gets stuck if the directory and/or filename name contains an umlaut (ä,ü,ö).

When changing the umlaut to a,o,u it works.
:dog: Well, that'd be embarrassing if u-he was a german company :hihi:
Hm, was sure I checked that. Guess it wasn't the final build then.
I'll look into it soon

Also, while we're on the topic of special cases:
There seems to be a problem if one converts a Studio One (.song) file, which contains tracks named like "something " (last character is a space). So if you're having trouble with Studio One projects please double check the track names. I'll spare you the details, but it's related to Windows rules about directory names.
It might work in some Windows versions and won't in others.

Thanks for your feedback!

Any news on fixing the umlaut issue ?

Post

Yes indeed!

It took a bit longer than expected but >here< is a new build.
If you found time to try it, please tell us whether the problem is solved.

Cheers,
Jan

Yes, it's working fine now with "Umlaut" files.
Thanks for the update!

So simple, thanks for the tip #rob. I rarely use presets and it didn't occur to me that it's always loading the default one on startup, I figured it was just the way it was made.

The Mix knob doesn't work in the drum compressor view inside reaper 5.20

Are you 100% sure? If so, please send a bug report to support (AT) u-he (DOT) com.

BTW the Input and Output controls remain active when Mix is turned all the way down, but the compression/saturation should certainly disappear.

Just checked with the latest reaper builds here. Works as expected.

However, could it be that mixing it a bit of dry level makes the output go over 0dBFS occasionally? In that case, Reaper stops the audio from being processed, thus muting the output when it thinks levels are too high. Maybe that's the issue?
Can't think of anything else since all plugin UI views/modes share the same set of parameters. So, if it still happens, can you please check again in Normal mode?

When the Mix knob is full left, there is the same amount of compression, as full wet!? That´s strange and not normal. This way no parallel processing is possible.
