Hi. I'm new to DAWs, as this question will no doubt make clear. I'm using T7 on Windows 10 if that matters. I have the bundled Melodyne Essential 4 and Elastique working as stretch processors and they also show up as plugins.
I'd like to take an audio file and have the tempo accelerate at a constant rate from about 80% original speed near the beginning to 100% or 110% near the end. I understand a little about how automation works, so I spent a few hours trying to use automation for this but no go. I don't find an automation parameter for tempo or speed when I add Elastique as a plugin to that track. And the bundled Melodyne is just for pitch, I think.
Maybe this is altogether the wrong approach, or maybe I need a plugin that I don't have. Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your time.

Do you want the entire song (the edit) to accelerate, or just a clip inside the song?
If you want the whole song, just use the tempo bar, after setting the stretch algorythm to your time stretch algo of choice.

Thank you Chico. I overlooked the automation line in the Tempo track. Sadly though, when I add a curve there and play the song back there is no change to the playback speed of the song. I see that the measure markers above the Tempo bar change their spacing, but the playback isn't affected, regardless of whether I light up the automation read or write mode buttons in the transport area. I have selected Elastique Pro as the stretch algorithm in the clip properties. I've also rendered the clip, but of course that made no difference.
I'm attaching a small screen shot showing the automation curve in the Tempo track.
Right now the edit consists of just one audio clip I imported, a Stephane Grappelli recording. Can the Tempo track automation be applied to a clip like that? I hope I'm missing something simple again. If I use the term "speed" rather than "tempo" for what I'm trying to do, does that clarify anything?

Select the clip and then the "Loop Properties" tab from the bottom properties panel.
Make sure "Auto-Tempo" and "Auto-Pitch" are enabled.
This allows the clip to synced to the tempo and pitch changes.
It is on my default if clips contain tempo meta-information (such as Acid loops or aiff Apple Loops) but if this is a complete song it's unlikely to have this info.

BAM! Auto Tempo did the trick. Thank you very much for your response. I think I'd have had to give up long ago if I hadn't found this forum where people like you share your experience so freely. My impression so far is that DAWs are amazing, but not for the faint of heart.
