Not quite a guitar solo but part of a guitar solo?
I might be wrong because it only occurred once in the entire song, but I think it's called a riff. Or better yet... a songwriting technique, rather than riff. It was used to connect one section of the song to the next section. Propel might be a better word than connect.
It's my favourite because I think it's powerful, brilliant, has flair, is creative and very musical, is in context of the song, and is functional. And it's less than 3 seconds.
