NUSofting Sinnah 1.1 UPDATED : Freeware, new features!

Wow. I didn't expect a flame war here (re GUI). I've been playing with Sinnah for a few days now. By day, I am a User Experience Architect and I design interfaces for digital products and have been doing so for 25 years. The GUI for Sinnah is fine, not sure what the commotion is about. Thanks for the nice free synth and I recently picke dup Modelonia which is also fantastic.

I agree.. sorry layzer, just my honest opinionAnX wrote:Here we go again. The GUI is fine. No need to change anything. Lazer is wrong. Again. It seems to be his personal mission to slag off gui's and try and gain support to get it changed. Well, his alternatives are really really poor. Keep the original.

The real gui is just fine as it is and needs no amateurish third party 'improvements'.layzer wrote: i'm sick of cheap looking gui's that look like a 5 year old made it.

Just came back to this thread to say a big "Thank you!" for the resizable GUI!!! I work on a crappy netbook and there are so many synths I can't use, free or otherwise. Bravo!!!

In case of Arcsyn I think that Lazyer's redesign looks better that the orginal GUI (but I have to admit that it is hard to imagine something looking worse that it). But here I prefer the original design.
Thanks for the synth, downloading now!

I see what you are after, but you may be glad to know that I already planned that.layzer wrote:suggestion:
So far you can only change two colours in Sinnah GUI, but I will implement more expanded colours schemes allowing to change also background and fonts colours. Since I know very well (all developers know) that you can't please everybody with a single GUI design. So while I was coding my custom library for vectors drawn GUIs, the colouring options were alredy planned.
The contrast depends on many factors, the type and the settings of monitors, if you work in a dark or bright room, and the subjective sesitivity of the eyes, and the taste of course.
Already by selecting this
or this
you should have a little less contrast,
Anyway so far I mostly put yellow, blu, red and greed for the mood and taste you may have.
Yellow at first have been choosen to releate to the famous daHornet

So there will be a bigger menu for colours in Sinnha, with more shades and background and fonts colours too.

I personally prefer the blue and yellow variants on the dark background.
Again, they just seem to fit together and don't look forced and imposed. Quite natural in fact.
Good show to the dev for his patience.

Since I read that great unexpected news, I wondered if Sinnah could do some drums, so I tried.rghvdberg wrote:Check this

I have a surprise for you, while Sinnha is absolutely
not designed for drums sounds,
with some pichbend trickery it can do some:
here you have 3 presets , kick drum, pitch snare and hihat,
- a short mp3 demo (with compressor)
http://nusofting.liqihsynth.com/sinnah_ ... _drums.mp3
you can download below the presets and the MIDI examples
to check the notes and the pitchbend curves.

i could have just made the comment, "how about a light background" instead of posting a roughrecursive one wrote:In case of Arcsyn I think that Lazyer's redesign looks better that the orginal GUI (but I have to admit that it is hard to imagine something looking worse that it). You could also have just done nothing, which would have been both polite and made you look less of an intrusive, arrogant, know it all A hole at the same time.

It's the red/red combo for me at the moment. I'm finding the GUI a pleasure to use.
I'm using Sonar X3 64 bit on windows 7. It seems to be one of those DAWs, as noted on the tool tip, that sometimes needs to reopen the GUI when increasing the size.
When Mono is selected, the final "o" is truncated especially at the smaller GUI sizes.
I noticed in the html file installed in the Sinnah folder, you twice use Sinnha instead (3rd paragraph of Planned Features).
A big thumbs up for the user friendly installer.

Awesome! Thank you!So there will be a bigger menu for colours in Sinnha, with more shades and background and fonts colours too.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
