i think we don't speak about the same master filter, a lot of people want a dune2 master filter(see synapse forum)
i think i don't understand something....after that if you want a master filter, not for voices, the drop is a great buy !(with any material)
I had a look. I didnt see anyone asking for a 'master filter' for D2

Even a more rediculous answer.

@Ingonator;

I know about the eq method but these are not up to par with a distinct Filter design. (it is a no go as a filter)

Imo a synth with this price tag should contain a master filter (with options). It's a basic but fundamental ingredient in any instrument.
I cant name a single synth that has this... enlighten me please

Dune, Arcsyn, memorymoon (40 dollar synth), Diva, Spire..

You name 5 who don't have a master filter (Tone2 synths excluded) ??
Really...Diva and Spire don't have master filters, after the voice filters. I should know, i use them a lot. Arcsyn seems not to have them either. Even stronger, a lot of plugins don't have output master filters. Many synths have a FX section. And sometimes there is the possibility to add a filter (serum for instance).

Spire (2) has an eq, Diva just contains per voice filtering (the best i heard so far + Repro1 :o , btw), Dune2 uses 2 FX lanes, where filtering can be possible. But so does (for instance) ElectraX (Tone2) in the form of EQ-ing.

5 without end filter, not per voice? Easy:

Kaivo, Retrologue (2), Fabfilter Twin 2, Sawer, Virtual CZ (i could go on btw...)

memorymoon has indeed a proper end filter. With seperate cutoff and res knobs.

ArcSyn has master filters of different types/EQs in the FX modules.

Icarus besides the dual multimode filters (each with tons of modes), the dedicated EQ and the additional EQ modes in the main FX section could add additional filters with the "Morph modes" at each of the the 3 oscillators. For each Osc you could then also render the combination of the current wavetable and the current Morph mode as a new wavetable and then apply another Morph mode.

For my taste this is more than enough in terms of filtering.

if a plugin doesn't have a feature you want...find another plugin. so easy! meanwhile, icarus is great, it sounds full, rich, deep. i promised myself not to add more 'synths' to my setup for a while, but...added this one. and lots of shiny presets...!

Off the top of my head I can think of a few. System 100 has a "tone" control that has some interesting behavior and in Serum and Omnisphere filters can be used in effects slots, effectively becoming master filters. Toxic Biohazard has a graphic EQ.

Then there's Diversion. Each oscillator has its own filter and can be routed to two other filters.

Seems a silly request though. Just throw a filter plug in after it.

I think that if we go on like this, there will be people wanting the developers to go to their homes and press the buttons for them. It was nice when musicians were musicians...
By the way, I never heard anybody complaining about a violin because it didn't have a filter. They just learn to play and play.

Unfortunately, we live in the age of entitlement. My first synth didn't have presets and no way to save any sounds. I made patch sheets. I was thrilled when Alan R Pearlman made them for his synths.

Yeah, those were the days.

Originally the discussion seemed to be mostly about other Tone2 synths like e.g. Nemesis or Electra 2 so for this thread it was mostly off topic. Personally i try to focus on Icarus which is why i mentioned what is possible there.

If KVR members want to discuss other Tone2 synths IMO it would be better to do that in a new thread.
