...I would much rather spend my time creating/mixing than futzing with all the output "standards"...I just signed the petition, "Music Streaming Services: Bring Peace to the Loudness War." I think this is important. Will you sign it too? Here's the link:

Well, maybe I should spend more time on this, but... why is their goal to just have 4 LU of dynamic range??

I like to work against the loudness war, of course! I alos hate so much loudness differences, but I think it's unfair for films on YouTube or Vimeo maybe. Some films just need more dynamic range. It would be bad, if they would be compressed by the services.

...my reading of the "whole" situation is looking at it from end "listener's" point of view...constancy has a very high end user experience satisfaction value...the "standards" and the "tools" are evolving...i'm just trying to keep up.../s~

In the end a standard for loudness would be great, indeed. I am not questioning this.

I see this as a good initiative - to compete on loudness only have losers, both on records, streaming, video etc.
