Still using on daily basis the Electra 2 also released not long ago soundset for it would like to try this beast as well. When i use my own effects Tone 2 synths sounds great to me.I am happy that lot of synth plugins coming with all that very interesting options totally destroyed my gas for outboard synths.I

If you just need a single wave of a wavetable or just a small part of a wavetable you could cut/edit the wavetable to use only the necessary parts which also saves disk space when saving the patch.

Wavetables that are in "Serum format" (which is mostly having a size of 2048 samples per waveform and a maximum of 256 waveforms) could be directly loaded without the need for using the Resynthesis modes.
Does this mean that Icarus can't save wavetables "as" wavetables? For what you wrote, it seems that the only way to save a new wavetable is by embedding it in a new patch. I would like to be able to export wavetables (for example as WAV files).
Another thing... how is the interpolation. For example, if I place a wave in position 1, one in position 64, one in position 128, etc., do I have just one way to interpolate, or more than one way? And is it possible to analyse a WAV file and build an entire wavetable out of it? Again, if yes, do we have just one method of analysis/WT creation or more than one?

I have all wavetables of Omnisphere 2 and Massive for Icarus converted and thus succeed absolutely fantastic sounds.

I trust PietW, when we speak about WT, your the man !

I have no reason to doubt, but that doesn't answer any of my questions.

So is the wavetable loading and saving similar to Codex?
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

What do you men exactly concerning Codex?

FWIW Icarus uses WAV files for both loading and saving, no synth specific fotmat. Wavetables used in a patch will be saved with the patch files, not a diferent location.

So, does Icarus save wavetables independently or not?

You can load 'any' wav file into Codex and it will make a wavetable of it. When you want to save that wavetable, it will save it with the preset. Is it the same with Icarus? (you can't save the wavetable separately to load it with a new preset, right? Or there is a workaround about this?)

Wavetables that are in "Serum format" which mostly means a size of 2048 samples per wave and up to 256 waves) could be loaded directly and for importing other WAV files you got multiple Resynthesis modes.
After importing you could edit it further with the wavetable and waveform editor.

The WAV wavertzablöes from Galbanum and Audoio Term wavetables exported in teh Serum format should be direcly compatible (without using Resynthesis).

The easiest way to import wavwetables from oter synths (besides doing samples of all single waveforms in the table) is to record a wavetable sweep (e.g. with an envelope), edit/cut the recored WAV if necessary (e.g. with Wavelab) and then import the resulting WAV file with one of the Resynthesuis modes.

If you want to use an imported wavetable with other patches you could simply save it as a WAV file and the load this in the other patch.
You could either use you own folder for those files or save teh wavetable in the default/factory wavetable folder. If you save in at the default folder you could select teh wavetable from the drop-dwon list in the plugin.
It is also possible to delete some or all factory wavetables and only place your own ones in the that default folder.

You could also create a new table from single cycle WAV files and/or creating your own waveforms from scratch (which is not possible in e.g. Codex or Falcon as they do not include an editor).

Yesterday i was at Musikmesse and like i had alraedy mentioned here Icarus was installed at one of the computers at the Best Service booth. If you visit Musikmesse today or tomorrow you could try to check it yourself there. Best Service booth is found at Hall 9.1, booth B01.

I know the obvious comparison is serum. But can anyone compare it with zebra?

Besides the fact taht both are capable of wavetable synthesis comparing Icarus and Zera seems to be like comparing apples and oranges.

Zebra 2 is a semi-modular (somehow even closer to a fully modular...) synth with quite a lot of options while Icarus is focused on doing wavetable synthesis and has a ton of features for doing that. If you just compare the wavetable synthesis part Icarus seems to be superior IMO while that also depends on which features you want to use. For certain patches the semi-modular (or close to modular) nature of Zebra could be an advantage.
FWIW the same is also true for UVI Falcon. While teh wavetable part in Icarus sem to be superior Falcon with it's modular approach and lots of modules could easily do stuff that is difficult or impossible to do with Icarus.
Wavetables that are created with Icarus (also with using the wavetable and waveform editor) should be compatible with Falcon (when using "_2048" at the end of the WAV files to indicate the waveform size) while Falcon has no built-in editor so having both could be a very powerful combination.
