I'm sure this is meant as a joke, but, image-line has put themselves in a box since they only have EDM music demos in the program. They refuse to include various musical genres for some reason. Perhaps this is the reason some see it as a toy?chk071 wrote:Guys... let's be honest. FL Studio can ONLY be used for EDM. It's commonly known that that is so. The linked article proves it. Trouble ahead for FL Studio? EDM proclaimed dead (or at least unwell...

Which DAW doesn't advertise with mainly EDM content?pc2000 wrote:I'm sure this is meant as a joke, but, image-line has put themselves in a box since they only have EDM music demos in the program. Not that claiming something is a toy because EDM is produced with it isn't equally ridiculous.

EDM, acronym for Electronic Dance Music. I would say it's pretty real. Just go to any club in the weekend or scroll thru all radio stations (I am sure you will find at least one playing EDM) and voila, there is the proofchaosWyrM wrote:soooo...were all gonna just go on pretending "edm" is a real thing then?

I've seen quite a few comments about it being a toy here at KVR in many debates over the years. This was particularly the case when it was called... Fruity Loops. As for other DAW's... most don't really ship with demo projects like FL Studio does. Never seen EDM projects included in Sonar, Cubase or Reaper. I have FL Studio producer, so I don't see it as such, but that's the impression some people have.chk071 wrote:Which DAW doesn't advertise with mainly EDM content?pc2000 wrote:I'm sure this is meant as a joke, but, image-line has put themselves in a box since they only have EDM music demos in the program. Maybe Image-Line should start remarket their product and show it is capable of making any music genre... because I know it is.pc2000 wrote:I'm sure this is meant as a joke, but, image-line has put themselves in a box since they only have EDM music demos in the program. I haven't used FL for several years, but even I know that's not really that true.pc2000 wrote:I'm sure this is meant as a joke, but, image-line has put themselves in a box since they only have EDM music demos in the program. Anyway, Synthwave is popular right now and it seems to be the law that you make Synthwave with FL

EDM is out and ADM is in. That's right, Acoustic Dance Music is the next big thing. The 2020s are going to sound a lot like the 1920s.
Better ditch FL Studio and get yourself an upright bass, a jazz drum kit, and a reel to reel tape recorder. Remember you heard it here first.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
