biotek, how does it work?

Hi,
I do not really understand how biotek is working. Ok, I can select presets and tweak them in a nice way, but it is just doing by not learning.
biotek seam to load an audio files that will be alterd. These are stored in a dedicated folder. But what format is *.acktionsample? How can I load my own audio files?
Or: take 'Automotive'. Why is the drum pattern stopping if you play tones higher than C2: B and is changing to a total different sound?
I would like to know and why things are happening before I move a slider.
