I really falling in love with MCharacter more and more. It's plugin I have been waiting for a long time. Often I have basslines that I like to eq, but I could only eq a certain frequency, now that's over!!
However MCharacter should only be the start. Inspired from what Melodyne did in it's recent update here are some ideas:
Next could be MDynamicCharacter:
- As MCharacter but additionally to only analysing the mean level of each partial / overtone it also analyses the dynamic level movement of each partial with parameters to either decrease the dynamics (thus making the sound more static or artifical "synth-" oder "robotlike") or increase it /to make the sound even more dynamic an vivid, exaggeration the already given per-partial dynamics).
Finally MAutoDynamicCharacter:
As above, but now you can also analyse an audio-signal and the plugin creates a profile of the levels of all partials as well as of the dynamic of each partial. Now you can apply that profile to any other audio-stream. Paramters could include: positive correlation (makes the sound more similar to the original profile), negative correlation (make the sound more dissimilar to the original, exaggerating the differences between the two profiles)
Man if you do this, I love you! (actually I already do
Cheers,
Codex
