M7 beta crackle test project!

Hi everyone,

I've encountered a vicious automation crackle problem. It only shows up after some amount of time, circumstances, yet, unknown.

This is not about the music, this is just a stripped down test project with enough components to guarantee that it will eventually crackle after some minutes or even as soon as measure 21, depending on...well...some magic whatever?

Editing an automation sequence seems to provoke it earlier already, but it's unclear. Everything about this is unclear as of yet.

Even weirder is that this may happen after MULab was just idle for some time. Thus, if you have the time, just load it up, run it a few times, maybe stop and let it sit there for a while (few minutes) and then see, if it starts to crackle for you, too?!

Thanks in advance. I literally feel sorry for the weirdness, but it's pretty scary stuff.

I can't repeat it. Do you have MIDI equipment connected? If yes disconnect it and try again. Maybe you have a broke MIDI fader/slider somewhere that is sending chaos events?

I noticed crackling with this song only. It works fine in M6 but in M7 it gets ugly...

About halfway through the video is where things go wrong.

I could finally repeat it! (Taron and i are already emailing some hours about this)
After seeing dakkra's video i realized i had to be active with the project in order to cause the issue.
Ok, i'll investigate further.

But I don't even have to be active with the project. It only provokes it earlier. Just now I loaded it up before dinner, we watched a show, I came back, started the song and immediately had the crackle madness!

But, yeah, I'm so glad and of course concerned. But you will figure it out!

I wished I could help more, but this seems totally beyond me.

You'll find it and fix it, I've got no doubt!

I had that same problem, I just thought it was the mux preset as it did it with a different project.

The sound distorts and gets bad even if mulab is unfocused and not playing.

This happened in M6 first and still happens in M7.

Confirmed. I'm researching it atm. It's a multi-core related issue.
