Unable to open previous project

I created a project in M6 which I think worked in a previous M7 version, using latest, but due to moving VST's about as I'm switching to 64 bit, I can't seem to add Dune CM to M7 without it crashing?!

I'm confused by your message. Are you saying you can't open a previous project or are you saying you can't plugin Dune? In the first case please email me the project file.

Both.
The project contained Dune CM. I started switching to 64bit so decided to start afresh by moving all VST's to MuLab folder.
Now I open that project, it opens if Dune CM is NOT in it's original location and if I ignore looking for it. As soon as I add it, MuLab says Couldn't open project.
I tried a brand new install of M7.0.12 and still it won't work, but it works in M6 final.
The project contained Dune CM. I started switching to 64bit so decided to start afresh by moving all VST's to MuLab folder.

Maybe Dune 32 bit and 64 bit are not compatible? Anyway, sounds to me like you have to carfeully check your Dune install. Does not sound like a MuLab issue to me.

If it works in M6 but not in M7 i think that's because of a different VST setup. If you would copy the M6 VstPlugins.Xml to M7 (attention 1: do so when M7 is not running)(attention 2: eventually first backup your M7 VstPlugins.Xml), then i think it will be the same as in M6.

Everything worked fine in M6, why the sudden refusal to load? Only thing to change is MuLab.

Simple test.
Clean install of M6 32bit latest.
Clean install of M7 32bit latest.
Do nothing to either except load Dune on its own.
Does that work?

Yes, but really that's irrelevant info, just trying to explain how I found the issue, I'll try the test you mentioned, which, btw, M7 latest, the answer is no.pljones wrote:You said you were moving to 64bit?

includes don't touch any user settings.
If you tried that with M7 and Dune is not compatible, then that's quite specific. Do you get any error message issued?

Hmm, strange, it must've been a slightly earlier M6 version that opened this project. Oddly, if I remove Dune CM 64 from the Dune folder, the project now opens. But... only two out of around six Racks and all but two Tracks are empty?!
I can understand Jo saying it's a VST issue, but if it worked before, why not now? Only MuLab has altered. Look at it this way... are we to prepare ourselves for the day when each and every VST we have is outmoded in this way? One by one losing all VST's for the sake of progress? Is there not some way of getting this working again? Without having several versions of MuLab installed just to keep projects working!

Ok quick test on new install same results, couldn't open project.
How do I get hold of legacy versions? I'm going to see how far back this goes!

Managed to find legacy link, but it only goes to M5. Are there any links to earlier M6 versions perhaps M6.3 and M6.4?

I had the same problem in reaper last year, it seems to be a dune cm installation problem and it happened often especially when they are installed both 32/64 bit versions,I installed the beat edition only the 32 bit and is no longer happened(maybe this has solved the problem) still it is in my vst folder and works well in mulab 6 and 7.
try uninstalling dune (not only delete the dll) and delete all files related,after reinstall only one version 32 or 64 bit,rescan the vst and test, maybe this can help.
