I've been an avid fan of Geist since the Guru days. I know I'll get smashed to bits for saying this but I'm still not too fond of the new UI. Way better than that UI preview - but I'm not too happy about it to be honest. With Strobe 2 the new design works very well - with G2, not so much. Looks cold and cluttered. Just my personal taste I guess.

That being said - I'll probably buy the update when it gets released.

I'm really liking it. Seems like you guys did a good job with strobe 2 (which sounds absolutely lovely guys). Seems to me FXP does a lot of classic software that is used in some of the best studios. I trust you know what you are doing and you seem to have addressed all the user issues. Maybe if you would give a few color options people would accept it better. Anyway, I made a comment a while back in this thread and nobody seemed to know what I was talking about and that's because it turned out to be a me problem (a bug in MY system). I'll be in on geist two. A lot of guys I know still use guru!

Also, the whole Geist plugin window can be dragged to any size! Fill the whole screen if you want! :-)
Yes good job Fx, u guys got it right! Still think we should be able to chop a song up to 128 slices across multiple pads eg: like the mpc, is this yet possible?
What about the Fonts ?! Do they scale as well ? please?

if you want both filters showing up on one tab..

click on the sample you want to filter
click on the pad mixer tab
load a hoover filter (for example) in one of the effects slots, choose one of the 4 lowpass modes
do the same in the second effects slot, but choose one of the 4 highpass modes

there ya go, lowpass and highpass filtering on one sample

you could do the same thing by using the filter in the pads/layer tab and adding a second filter in the pad mixer tab

Not the fonts but you can scale the UI up,as well as stretch.

So that scales the fonts as well ?

Is there a way to switch the Fonts to OSX default instead of Windows ? (narrow Ariel shiver :hyper: )

Does that also work on OS X ?

Here are some Font Readability comparisons I made for other developers, they are not from Geist , but outline the readibilty of narrow small fonts vs. wider big fonts quite good.

That scales the whole UI so everything gets bigger. Can't see a way to switch fonts,no osx here can't test that.

With the UI scaling & stretching I can't see any screen size being a problem

I sold Geist 1 years ago because of its tiny less good readable fonts and I really hope that Version 2 will fix this.

emef and ansolas thanks for your answers :tu: I overlooked the option to use the filters as an effect.

How many slices per song? Is there a way to slice and immediately preview it on the pads? Any new slicing modes? One thing i couldn't stand about version 1 was the the slicing methods or lack thereof. So what all new features are available with geist 2?

this is my current way of chopping on the mpc >
INTERFACE: RME ADI-2/4 Pro/Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core/BAE 1073 MPF Dual/Heritage Audio Successor+SYMPH EQ
SYNTHS: Arturia Polybrute 12/Roland Jupiter X + Juno X/Yamaha Montage M/Yamaha KX88/Softsynths + Samplers

Wait so can we scale to see more steps (instead of just make the step seq visually bigger)? It's always too little space

Post

Woohoo!
With Transmod and modulatable looppoints and envelopes. Also automatable in the sequencer i hope.
