BR : submix track : solo/mute behaviour

If I create a folder track and solo/mute this track, the tracks inside the folder track are soloed/muted accordingly.
If I create a submix track instead, it only solo or mute the submix track, you have to solo or mute individual contained tracks, and then, if you solo a track for instance, it mutes the submix track so you can't hear the soloed track !

I totally agree - this should be updated/fixed by the T-team.
When you solo the submix track, all the tracks contained that feed it should be soloed also.

I know this is more work but it works better this way. Make a folder track. Put all your tracks you want to create a Submix for in the folder. Now create one more track in the folder and output all the other tracks to this track in the folder and this will be your submix track . Also you don't have to the tracks or the Submix track if you don't want to. but know when you solo a track it will also solo your submix track to I have templates built with this setup for download @ http://layitproductions.com/ Just sign up and go to downloads. I have a few neat Templates to get projects started on the fly.

Regardless, the preferred behavior is select tracks/create submix/mute and solo will work for those.

Not sure if it's been addressed in newest beta, new to this.

Also adding: If you create a submix, the only way to put FX is the + sign. Right clicking the submix only allow "text" as a choice.

There does not seem to be a "T7 bugs" thread? Could we make one?

Also, "default pan law" is either not working on the demo, or I don't understand it. I have to change everything when opening a new project.

The "default pan law" is actually a setting for each vol/pan plugin. If you set them to use the "Default pan Law" they'll use whatever you have set for the default from the "General Settings" page.

Unless I'm misunderstanding you, that's my problem. If you launch tracktion, open a new project and the default is set to "-3db" then the project is all "linear"

I think you've mis-understood me. The vol/pan plugins have "default pan law" as an option, alongside linear, -3dB etc. If you select this, they will use the app default.

This means you can set all you plugins to "default pan law" and then switch it in the settings page for them all to have this law applied. It's more like a "Use the pan law that is currently set for the app" mode.

I don't doubt you. But I'm dense as f....k over it I'm sure there is something logical that I'm missing.

I'm sure to the general tracktion user this makes sense, but I'm not getting it.

Everything else so far as been explainable except this and quantize (which again seems to require the thinking that 1/4 is the equivalent of /16 in most other hosts)

But it's an extra step to people who are used to a host that has the option. Man, something else to remember.....
