thanks! i've been working with the dev on making my skin an integrated switchable option
so those that prefer the original can keep it that way.
he mentioned to me that he plans to make it switchable in the v1.5 update.

Oh no! Exactly that is what i was afraid for! I am very happy with my instrument and then there is one who said: "uh its so ugly, i don`t like the look". And the dev implement a "switch", which i have to update too in the future. Sad! Really sad! Make music, rather than be obsessed with appearances.
Anyway. Its like everywhere. The one they scream the loudest, will be heard.
On the other side: Good work layzer! Respect for the ones who make the things themselve and don`t only talk about! :D

EDIT: sorry wrong thread.

having an interesting time with arcsyn. i do mostly pop/hiphop music, and...arcsyn fills a lot of space. but finding places for it, and...it's unique enough, distinctive enough to justify that space. it's a great synth.

sugo: as far as the GUI, am getting used to it. but there's no harm in asking for options; if u spend a lot of time looking at something, seems reasonable that you'd want it to look 'inviting' (or 'better', or 'different'). asking for that does not take away the quality of a plugin's sound(s)...

the developer is working on it (some alternative skins). for now, anytime i question the current GUI, i open izotope's DDLY, and suddenly arcsyn is the beautiful girl in the room... :D

I got used to the interface, and I do like layzer's design. As I mentioned in an earlier post, I also think it would be cool to have a flat, dark, mysterious option that miraculously maintains knob and slider contrast. There's no harm having skin options. While it's true this should all be about the sound, the look can make it more fun to use and easier to navigate. Some plugins make my eyes go crazy. Aesthetics maybe more important with a DAW as they are the workspace that you live in.

If you're happy with the instrument then never update it ever again. FFS

Finally time to check the demo. Sounds very nice, even the reverb. The GUI is surprisingly huge, so even I can use it :hihi:

But is there a pitch bug? +6 semitones is what on other synths is +7 semitones...

just checked that, and +7 is correct here (ie, C at +7 plays a G...)

Strange, here there is a two-semitone jump from 5 to 6 semitones. Up until 5 the steps match those in Sylenth.
Seems the bug is only there when picking the semitone via the drop-down menu. Via the buttons it works as it should.

possible implication of the fresh implemented gui-switch :hihi:

Just to put my 2 cents in, to me this synth is amazing, possibilities are endless.
Now I don't see why so much energy is wasted into non-vector skin blahblah.
To be future proof, every plugin should have a vector gui. As you may now, we will probably have crazy high definition screens in the near future, and if developers stop updating their stuff (as they often do), we may end up with unusable plugins.

good thing i don't plan on updating my daw (winxp and EnergyXT2) for years and years as i don't
give a crap about making "future music" or the using software that require it. i'm happy with
making 80's and 90's music with the plugins i have NOW.
