Though in that mode it does look a little like wasted space, you don't have a long list of plugs in there, which I'm pretty sure would fill that up.

I want a native spectrum analyser in Tracktion, it's an essential tool for mixing...
It would be a nice addition, but for now you can go download Voxengo Span for free.
Yes. Span is a great tool!
I know that there are great Spectrum analysers for free, Voxengo Span but also Blue Cat Audio FreqAnalyst or MeldaProduction MAnalyser (my favourite).
But Tracktion is not a DAW packed with synthetizers, drum machines or sounds, it's main goal is recording, arranging, mixing...
So there must be the essential native tools to do these tasks.
Nah. Your argument basically boils down to 'I think Tracktion should be used for <X> so any plugin focussed on <X> should be part of Tracktion'. Scale that up to the entire userbase's opinion of what it 'should' be used for, and the list of plugins would cover just about every possible thing out there.
TSC dont have the resources to cater for that; the bread-and-butter selection they've already got is more than adequate as a starting point. Since there are great free and non-free tools already out there, TSC shouldn't be diverted from the core development of Tracktion itself in favour of plugins which already exist.
I'd rather see core functionality like a spectral editing view than an analyser plugin, myself.

Hi!

I can't see actual bpm on tracktion control bar, if i use midi clock from out source, i see just last one manual setting. Possible write out actual bpm?
Please make default tag the tracktion own plugin, now is visible just in untagged folder.

Thanks!

@whyterabbyt : It's not that I think that Tracktion sould be used for X or Y. I just notice that Tracktion doesn't offer any instruments or sounds, but rather tools like Low/High-Pass filter, 4-band equaliser, compressor, limiter... So why not a spectrum analyser ? It's a functionality among others. And it's certainly funny to code...
And a native Tracktion plugin has the advantage to be available for Windows/Mac/Linux, 32 bit and 64 bit...
