Can someone PLEASE tell me if you can change the default general midi program names to ??? whatever? I ***never*** use gm voices esp with my older (SY77) synth. There must(?) be a way to at least get rid of the GM names and use numbers or is there a txt file I can load in whatever I want for midi program names??
can someone PLEASE tell me...

I could be wrong but I don't think so
I mailed Jules and ask if there was a way to use GS and XG banks of my Korg NX5R and he promptly mailed me back and said that T only supports GM and that he had not recieved more than a couple of request for it to be other wise. He also stated that most people were into the VSTi's. So my conclusion in answer to your question is it wouldn't do any good to change the patch names if it only supports the GM standard. I'm pretty new to midi so like I said I could be way off here. Someone will probally correct me if that's so............Anyone

That kinda sucks - I mean I can see not having the ability to be tied to the zillions of ways synths manage programs but all Im asking for is the ability to change the list of names to whatever I want.
I would think this would be a simple change? The strings are there anyway, just put them in a file that I can edit instead on in the compiled code...
