Documentation IS sketchy.

Then again, it changes pretty rapidly. To the people that have posted stuff, I appreciate it, but it's a little tougher to wrap my head around (even though I was already used to some stuff from way back)

Hey guys - you will be pleased to know we are working on a new Quick Start Guide - both written and video series

Will be ready in the next 2-3 weeks - we wanted it earlier but the member of our team that does these things got diagnosed with cancer so has greatly reduced bandwidth

The plan is for us to get the initial QSG done internally and will be released free - Bill had stepped up to the plate with his book when Dave got diagnosed - it is, in our minds, an official book - but all the revenue goes to the author.

With the addition of the new QSG materials - and more time on our hands to create videos, we should be well covered for training materials. The addition of the first run assistant in T7 is also helping - and we plan to add more 'built in' training as we move forward

Game on :)

That is great news and I really appreciate the response!

I also would like to make it known that there are a lot of us that rather read than watch. Video content is a great thing to have, but it can be very frustrating if you just want to know the details of a specific function real quickly.

It would also be good if Bill's book was linked directly from the software, and/or was prominently mentioned on the page that the software links to (which is: https://www.tracktion.com/training/videos/).

Thanks again. It's excellent to know that you're working on it.

edit: Also, I think everyone here hopes for Dave's quick recovery. I hope this discussion isn't taken as a slight against him and his efforts. :tu:

No offense taken

I am actually thinking about starting a monthly Q&A session where folk can log in and chat to us realtime - ask any questions that are bugging them - get some insights to our thinking etc

Will post more info when I have figured out a suitable system :)

That's a great anecdote. I discussed Tracktion in a room with twenty thousand people who all loved the website. In fact, they all immediately bought it based on how much they liked the website. This definitely happened. This is how people decide whether to buy audio software.
I call bullshit on this post. Website is annoying.

What am I supposed to say? That it's crap when I don't think it is?

I'm not saying that you (whomever) is wrong. Don't misunderstand me. Just saying I don't have the issues some are saying (except for the mousewheel thing which I'm guessing on a lappy/ipad can be annoying)

Which reminds me, I'll try it on my ipad in a couple and see if it pisses me off

Hi just wanted to ask, in version 7 there is no way to change colors of UI?
White colors of version 6 have big inspiration effect.

Well spotted, I made that anecdote up. I was joining in.
