When i activate step edit mode and click on piano roll, just some notes are written into midi editor and just sometimes. Its basically broken or i dont know how to use it properly :]

Note entry works for me, but the key to insert a rest doesn't work.

Note to Tracktion developers, I've been using Tracktion since version 1 and have never used the step entry because it's so utterly laborious. It's quicker to draw stuff in with the mouse. This feature would be massively more useful if the following was implemented:
  1. Fix the rest key, obviously.
  2. If the user enters a new note or chord and does not let go of the key(s) on the MIDI keyboard, extend the length of the current note(s) by one step each time the rest key is pressed.
  3. If the position bar has not been manually moved by the user since the last note was entered, delete the last entered note (or notes if a chord) if the user presses Backspace and move the position marker back to start of the deleted note(s).

Again, for the developers: I've just realised that pressing the rest key makes the position marker jump to the end of the currently selected note instead of being positioned one step beyond it.

So when you enable step mode and click on some tone multiple times it is written multiple times? weiiiiird.... I feel something fishy here.

Good suggestions.
