My entry for this month.. It uses 8 instances of Sinnah. A couple
limiters and effector or two as reverb..

Thanks to Sfiks for some of the patches..

The flp is at https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... sp=sharing (54 aluode sinnah.zip)

Hi all,

Good stuff! Enjoying Sinnah very much.

One (bug?) I'm seeing is that I am unable to save presets.

I'm using FL Studio 12.2, on Windows 7 64 bit. I did apply the upgrade to 1.0, and using 64 bit Sinnah.

Any time I try to save a preset within Sinnah's menus, I get a failure with "Failed To Copy Preset XXX" message.

I don't know if this is a known issue.

I'm working around the problem by saving channel states within FL Studio itself, but would like to be able to store/share Sinnah presets in native format.

Peace,
Z

Looks like you don't have the permissions set to write in that folder
\Sinnah\Presets\User
if FL Studio gives you the options to use more than one vstplugins folder,
try installing Sinnah in another folder, inside one you know you can write to , or try to change the permissions of the one you are using now

It's like a comb filter with adjustable feedback. In some ways it simulates a simple reverberator. If you add modulation it somewhat diffuses the echos.
Yes that's one possible use of the delay matrix.

The delay matrix is made of three delay lines (comb filters if you like) feeding into each-other,
each delay line is modulated by a LFO, the shape of the LFO
is a kind of smoothed sample&hold, pseudo random.
A main point is that there is one delay matrix per note (or voice),
so if you play for instance a 3 notes chord you'll be playing
nine delay lines modulated with nine LFOs.
Since the max voices is set at eight so far,
for eight notes playing at the same time, with the delay matrix active
and modulated, you have 24 delay lines and 24 LFOs running.

Next thing to learn is that the delay lines can be tuned relatively to the frequency of the
played note. That happens when the |memory| switch is off.
You can tune each delay (comb filter) from zero to -24 semitones.
At zero the delay line will have the same length of of cycle of the wave
from the oscillator, hence resonating at the same frequency. The amount of resonance
is given by the feedback level and its envelope.
With "lag" at -12 the delay line will resonate one octave lower, and so on.
So you see that with three delay lines per note and 24 semitones range
for each delay you can create a great number of possible spectral variations,
but the delay lines as said above also feed into each-other, so when you use more
than one delay line you actually multiply the resonances.

Note that the feedback signal in the delay matrix is saturated by a waveshaper
therefore the higher the feeback level the more harmonics it will generate,
getting into distortion. The phase switch inverts the feedback signal
creating more dispersion and reducing the modulations from the LFOs

When the |memory| switch is on then the "lag" knobs display their values
in milliseconds, now the delays line are no more tuned to the oscillator frequencies
and you can use the delays for echoes (up to 250 ms) or fixed resonances (when few ms are used).

Depth (from zero to 10 ms) and Speed (from zero to 12 Hz) knobs
adjust the modulation for each delay lines. You can use those
for subtle flanging, wide chorus or wild modulations, depending also on how
you set the delay lines. The factory presets, there are 80 now,
should give you some examples.

Permissions. Duh.

Why didn't I think of that?

Fixed, and working now. Thx!

I am looking forward for presets! Tho it doesn't sound like a guitar. It fits into some sort of keys I think. To have something like a guitar you need to have like 3-4 synth instances making certain aspects of a guitar.
Subscribe me. I need folowers.

LOL, who was talking about real guitar? It's just "some sort of guitar sound which is possible to made in Sinnah" :) Yes, it's too keyboardy, but we have what we have.

I'm actually very impressed by the sound.  Definitely a good guitar replication there

Thanks BJ  Will try to finish the whole soundset today and post here.

Luigi, I'm trying to create structure under the "User Presets" root to put all my presets to their respective folders, but Sinnah seems cav not see it. Is it possible at all? Thanks!

Hi Julian, the bank menu is not ready to distiguish
the Factory folders tree from one in User, so far.
But if you name the subfolders with a prefix
E.G. "User-Pads" you should have no problems to see them in the bank menus. Mac or Windows?
BTW I also really like your "guitar" sound very much, can't wait to see your presets.

Thank you Luigi :)
I'm on Windows. Maybe for now to keep things simple I'll just use a prefix in preset name, like "PAD Preset Name" or "VOX Preset Name".

I've discovered Sinnah yesterday and was playing all the night with it - it really has a big potential... Sound is so organic and clear - my best wishes to you to develop it further!
