(seriously, I was given permission to post this demo by Markus a couple of months ago (he seems to appreciate my stuff), and for now it's all I have to let Icarus' sound be heard. I've used it in many other tracks, too, but on these tracks it's Icarus only playing, so it shows a tiny bit of what it can do)

I wouldn't know, the only virus I got was the flu, but because I'm a vegetarian and all, I got it over ten years ago, I don't remember what it sounded like...

You mean like phone marketing? Oh boy, I hate that - they're one of the main reasons why I keep my phone disconnected, at one point I was getting as many as 15 calls a day from all the stupid companies in Italy...

in that demo I did not hear anything that sounded particularly better or different than any one of many highly capable wavetable synths

Again, please let me point out that that's not a demo for the instrument, but a teaser for my album, that means that what you hear there is just the kinds of sounds I wanted to get out of it. It's a synthesizer, you can get the sounds you want out of it, that's the whole purpose behind this kind of instrument. Do not judge it based on my "demo," unless you are interested in that kind of sound or music, but wait till you can try the instrument yourselves or hear sounds by other people that could be closer to what you need/want

it always does: it's called workflow, ease of use, not being a hindrance to creativity...

Sure. I get that, but do you see my point? I'll try it, of course. I always do. I think the worst thing about all the Tone2 synths I have is their work flow/UI, so part of me is thinking that this won't be much better. Hard to say at this point. Anyway, the track was good, but if you really think people aren't going to consider something called "synth name-teaser-1" a demo for a synth, well then you should do some soul searching young man.

you're still not answering my question: is something not working for you? again, all my tone2 plugins worked when i used them, including (currently) electra2 and now icarus. isn't that the main point, that a plugin should work?

Because it's not relevant to my question. Updates aren't just for fixing bugs but also show investment in a product on the part of the developer such as in improvements. I've not had Nemesis long enough to identify any bugs apart from a few interface niggles with the browser but given that it's been around a couple of years now I'm surprised it has not had any further development. Again my concern was just how do I know if the claim that updates and improvements will be regular other than looking at previous history, particularly on Mac given that the only updates seem to have been on Windows for Nemesis (and Rayblaster)? I do realise, as Franz says, as a small company they have to prioritise, just does this say anything about what they prioritise?

Mac support is a fair question. Do you know if anyone has officially asked in the Tone 2 forums about Mac support and Mac updates for Nemesis? (I haven't seen any there.)

Currently, Nemesis is the only synth whose updates haven't kept pace with the PC version, and there's probably a fair reason for that. All other synths and effects are up to date on the Mac: https://tone2.com/html/download.html
