Another KVRian started a thread for this new update, in this same sub forum. That one is probably less confusing since the new import function is the focus of it (and in the topic subject line).
You're right Peter. This is an old thread from last year. Guess the morning coffee didn't kick in yet :). So 4/19/2016 was the first release that included this feature? Great news!
:) Don't worry I had to check myself, there was a day I could handle keeping track of far more than two threads going on... Must be getting old and also could use more coffee myself. I am glad you feel this is good news that the 3.6.5 update added this functionality!

Well, I don't know precisely what I did -- just uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling several times -- but I finally got SampleTank 3 CS to work... mostly.

The VST3 is installed, but doesn't show up in my list of plugins in Reaper. ST3 VST2 does, and it works. As does the standalone.

I'll take what I can get. Sounds great, Peter!

But you check them out at this particular time though, good timing that :D
Exactly. :hihi: :tu:

Someone replied earlier and they were correct. I thought their answer would suffice but I can see where their assumption might not be satisfactory for you, so sorry if you needed more official confirmation. We also have full product information for SampleTank 3, SampleTank 3 SE, and SampleTank 3 CS on our web site for future reference.

You couldn't just answer the question ? So the plugin I paid for is now free. Got it......

I was going to sell my ST3 license but that's f*cked now.......Thanks IK ! :tu:

Again, thought the answer given sufficed. If you don't feel you are getting an answer here that satisfies your needs, you can PM me or use the multiple methods of contact available on our web site (where you can also find detailed information about the products you were asking about, as pointed out).

Your SampleTank 3 license includes a huge sound library that does not come with SampleTank 3 CS so what you paid for is still in no way free (unless you purchase a qualifying controller in our Fully Loaded promotion before time runs out of course)

I've been importing legacy libs over the last couple of days and for the most part it works really well.

Even though the soundsets was made some time ago, they still sound good, especially the Cinematic Collection :)

But I got problems with several patches in that and other legacy libs that I have imported produce no sound, so I guess they didn't convert?

Anybody else noticed this?

I've had that problem with the EMU banks that I am converting. Try adjusting (raising up ) the envelope level on the edit page. That's what I'm having to do for the patches without sound. There are a few in my conversions that seem to have lost samples all together, but 75% of these just need the increase in envelope level. Again, these are my own EMU conversions, but maybe it will help you also. I haven't come across ST2 patches that don't sound. If you list a few, I will check and see if I have them and if I have the same problem.

Damn..I thought it would natively just cover the ST2 libraries. Guess it is a whole different format...All I wanted was a bigger GUI and a 64-bit engine so I didn't have to bridge anything for my ST stuff.

In my case, I'm doing EMU to ST2 conversions using third party software, and then using the import feature of ST3 to bring them in. The native ST2 banks (powered by) are pretty easy to import and don't seem to have too many problems.

SampleTank 3 is a complete ground-up rewrite and the engine is completely different from 2.x so that is why there is an import process, just FYI.

It is quite easy, just point ST3 to the legacy lib you want to import and it will do it, takes less than a minute for the the libs I have imported like Cinematik Collection, or Vocal Collection.

Too bad that the GUI of ST3 couldn't have been made bigger.

ST3 has one of the smallest GUI's of plugs I use these days.

I hope resizable GUI will become a possibilty in the future.

It may make sense to take down the resolution of your monitor. I just took mine down a notch and I couldn't be happier.
