Bug in MPS?

Hi Vojtech,

there seems to be sort of a bug in MPS. The first note that an instance plays is always a little delayed (presumably because MPS needs time to initialize), no matter if it is offline or online. So if you open a song and start playback, first note of MPS instances is delayed. After that, everything fine, so when you play the song again it's all perfect. However, if you open a project and directly render it without playing it first, then the delayed first note is in your export.

Cheers, Thorsten

Hi Thorsten,

hmmm, I'll check it out. But it could well be a Cubase problem. Did you try another host to check if it does that as well? How about sending me a small project?

In fact there is a known Cubase issue called "lazy initialization", that cubase inits the VSTi's not when loading but only when playing the first note. But I thought this could only affect the realtime playback, since the offline renderer always waits as long as the VSTi's need to compute, right? So it must be a different issue here, isn't? Anyway I'll send a project.

Oooops the project I was talking about actually used a Kontakt patch and not MPS

However I have a Melda Chorus effect on it. Anyway I'll investigate.

OK, confirmed it's either a Cubase or a Kontakt problem, has nothing to do with Melda. Sorry for false accusations here. The thread might be removed.
