Thank you, Liqih.
I'm glad to see some new Nusofting instruments, and i'm glad Sinnah is rather different than many VAs.

Thanks sinkmusic!
BTW here is a song made 100% using Sinnah 1.0, all sounds including percussions.
Produced is Ableton Live using some automations, reverb, delay, EQ and limiter. No other effects.

I personally like this color scheme, but maybe not quite as much as the black bkgd and soft blue layout. Both are simple, clean, super-legible, functional, and most importantly resizable. Sure, I can imagine all sorts of more sophisticated 3D upgrades, but your rather sparse design is a breath of fresh air from the many dense and busy eye-catchers. But that smudgy logo doesn't work well with this background - a sharp, crisp logo would cut through the foggy muck and look so much more professional, IMHO.
Growth is change, and change is eternal.
Thanks liqih for sharing your creation and the many updates, and thanks to Julian Ray for the new bank of presets!

I agree, the GUI is perfectly fine. I do agree with the person who said the "foggy" logo isn't working but I can certainly deal with it. This is KVR so I'm not quite sure why I'm surprised but I really don't understand the rude comments about Sinnah's GUI, especially from a person who has designed some downright ugly skins himself!Nielzie wrote:I agree.. sorry layzer, just my honest opinionAnX wrote:Here we go again. The GUI is fine. No need to change anything. Lazer is wrong. Again. It seems to be his personal mission to slag off gui's and try and gain support to get it changed. Well, his alternatives are really really poor. Keep the original.
This synth makes some pleasant tones and timbres. Nice work, liqh!
(oh and I love the daHornet GUI! Always have since the DASH days!

Thanks SciFiArtMan! That you shooted is a temporary scheme for the 1.0 release,
since we plan to introduce colours scheme definition files in the next release. There will still be the menu,
but the schemes will be in YAML files like the sound presets, freely editable.
The logo is very easy to change, it's just
the sinnah_logo.png in the resources, I will add an alternative one.
Yeah Julian Ray presets are very good and different from those I make.So I bump again the link

I seem to be in the minority, but I like that original hazy logo. It provides a quirky contrast to the very matter-of-fact GUI, I think.liqih wrote:Thanks SciFiArtMan! That you shooted is a temporary scheme for the 1.0 release,

Julian Ray's presets are very inspiring and really invite playing.

I like textured Sinnah name, but because of the texture it might look unpredictable on some backgrounds. Glove is good to emphasize the name, but from some point can make it less readable and masking texture as well (in case of glove I was referring to current version Sinnah I have). Still not sure about hanged letters (S & H). Also, base line (wave+NUSofting) fades out in size from left to right, leaving last letters of Sinnah without the base.liqih wrote:or this one?

To reach a balance, I would try extend base line (or just it's background) width to Sinnah width and maybe make NUSofting all by capital letters (if it's not too critical). Anyway, just some thoughts

Been playing around with this today - great for making really chaotic hard to control sounds - esp overblown flutey and scrapey stringy things - here are 17 patches taken from today's experiments:
