Hi there.
I'm not looking for these big impressive organ sounds, I want something more gentle.
I have something from SoundIron which is close to what I want but not exactly yet.
Does anyone know if Hauptwerk works?
Cheers,
JPR

Definitive no on hauptwerk. I own the full license, and you'll never get the registration cleared because of their proprietary dongle. Sucks because the receptor would have been an awesome box to park the Hauptwerk on. As you know, Muse is a dying company and has dropped their support on nearly everything. RIP little receptor. It was fun while it lasted.

What ? No, I didn't know that. I only bought mine in 2013, and was hoping they would implement the latest version of Kontakt soon. Any alternative?jkuehlin wrote: As you know, Muse is a dying company and has dropped their support on nearly everything. RIP little receptor. It was fun while it lasted.
the receptor has something unique called live mode, I guess you know what it is, and I love it just for that feature.
Best,

Sorry to hear that. They're a steep investment for something they are now unable to offer meaningful support for. I was pretty shocked when I realized the plugins had not been updated in years. After a few e-mails to the muse team, they were adamant that support was being dropped. No software updates, no firmware updates, no new software. I feel they should have given users a heads up about this, my guess is they're trying to sell off the last of their inventory before they fold up.
The unit should continue to function for many years after Muse Research dissolves, but it'll be tougher and tougher to make use of it as your locked into the last and final compatible version of kontakt.
Yeah man, live mode was sweet. Among many things that I'll miss about these Receptors. As far as alternatives go...Mainstage works for me in live scenarios. Vienna Ensemble Pro for studio. Best of luck man.

Here is an interesting organ and 50% right now

I haven't tried this one but I bought this company's UDU drum a couple weeks ago and love it.
I am concerned about the Muse Research folding talk. I don't know if it is substantiated, or if you are receiving the no support talk because of the model of Receptor you have. I have gotten great support over the years while upgrading through the iterations of the Receptor and paying the yearly support fee. I can understand that eventually support has to fall off for older models, and I have found that the investment in the newer technology has been worth it. Muse needs to keep income rolling in to be able to provide support. At the same time, you are absolutely right that the closed system for things like Kontakt updates requires Muse put their resources towards making it possible for users to have flexibility with their platform. I am very unhappy about the Kontakt update issue, and I am not satisfied with the answer that it is all on Natve Instruments to make it work.

Hi Nathan.
Thanks for the follow-up. Have you any idea if the new version of Kontakt could be installed on the receptor using the "unsupported plug-in" method?
Cheers,
JPR

Unfortunately not. The most recent version I have successfully installed i5 5.3.1- many of the newer libraries are requiring 5.5 be installed to load.

Dear Nathan.
I think it's you who mentioned mainstage as an alternative to the receptor in an earlier message. Does it have something comparable to live mode? Does it support Kontakt or only EXS24?
Sorry for being off topic on this forum, but if receptor drops support for newer versions of Kontakt, I will have to let go.
Best,
JPR

It wasn't me-I'm sticking with Receptor. I really don't want to go back to a laptop on stage! I did a performance this weekend with a band where I used my receptor and another band member used a laptop and Ableton Live to send out midi sync and an audio click. One song into our first set and the sync and click were completely out of alignment. It ended up being a glitch with the usb midi/audio converter losing sync with live and the latency settings switching....it was a sharp reminder of why I am using the Receptor and a hardware looper (Boomerang 3) instead of a laptop rig.
That said, not having the updated Kontakt is a serious limitation that needs to be fixed! I have invested myself pretty heavily in the Receptor model since the Rev C, and I want to see Muse continue. We need more communication from Muse about the status and timelines about updates and compatibility for standard software like Kontakt!
