Oh darn, April already! It would be great to have released it today, but, alas, it wasn't to be.

Hmmm... I hope this is an April fools' day joke and you do release it...colin@loomer wrote:Oh darn, April already! It would be great to have released it today, but, alas, it wasn't to be.

Just dont release it during MESSE, so many indie developers do that thinking they will get a wash of show hype, all that happens is they get lost in the never ending stream of show BScolin@loomer wrote:Oh darn, April already! It would be great to have released it today, but, alas, it wasn't to be.

No, I think we will reach the 4 year goal!
There are other threads from different developers were the release comes next weekend or in one/two days and as result several months there is nothing.
Think developers over all have a "different time feeling" than we normal musicians.

I was once told that the general rule for development time estimates is, multiply it by two and increase the unit. So a ten-second fix will take twenty minutes, and a one-week estimate actually means two months of development time.
Seriously though, I'm currently filling in the gaps of outstanding issues that needed doing for the initial release; little things like making sure each parameter can be modulated. Unfortunately, there were quite a few on several modules that flew under the radar, something that was easily done when you account for the fact some modules have hundreds of parameters. I've also been reworking the way that module inlets are displayed, linking them more closely with their parameters, which makes managing these mappings all rather simple and intuitive.

No concrete date to report on the big 2.0 Aspect update, but it'll be a couple of months after 1.0 of this behemoth lands.

That's a good name for it actually.
Noun: behemoth
1. Someone or something that is abnormally large and powerful
2. A person of exceptional importance and reputation

Going through some 250-odd modules and writing better and more succinct error messages for when a module receives unacceptable data of some form on its inlets is much less fun than I'd have thought. The words of people much wiser than I who said, "Don't leave robust error checking until the end" are ringing in my ears!
