Hi everyone,

I'm new to mutools (less than a month). I have versions 6 & 7 installed. I find most aspects of the software easy to figure out. However, I've hit a stumbling block & hope someone may be able to help. Is it possible to change the starting and end point of a sample while it is playing? I'd like to just hold any keyboard key down and use controllers to:

1. change the start & end point very finely
2. change the start & end point by pre-defined markers

I see how to add markers. I suppose one solution may be to use the multisample instrument to manually assign different combinations of markers to different keys on the keyboard.

I notice that right-clicking on most parameters permits assignment to a MIDI controller but this does not work for the loop start and end points. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance,

Changing the start-loop-end markers for a (multi-)sample player indeed cannot yet be controlled via MIDI. It's on the (long) wishlist.

Changing the start marker by midi or automation in the (multi-) sample player, if possible, must be implemented sooner or later...

OK. Thank you for your responses. For the time being, could anyone recommend a free or inexpensive VST or other mutools compatible plugin-instrument that permits the start & end points of a sample to change during playing?

Not sure about the end or loop markers but I think some of the SFZ-based samplers can automate the start offset by MIDI CC. I'm certain the original rgc:audio sfz.dll v1.97 could do it (http://www.drealm.info/sfz/plj-sfz.xhtml#cc).

TX16Wx or Shortcircuit can do this.

pquenin & pljones, thank you for your suggestions!

pquenin,

I have TX16Wx working in mulab but cannot seem to find how to assign midi controllers to sample start and end points. Do you happen to know how this is done?
