Hello,

Anyone is using Mixtreme with tracktion?
(After research I only know Kiwiboyus is using )

Could you share your experience?

I am thinking to get their mixtreme 192 card with
ibox line8 and ibox mic2 bundle.

how about the sound quality compare to RME card?

I am getting rid of my cheapy Maudio soundcard..
they are unreliable and the MME driver is unstable
in my PC.

Thanks

Ben

:D I have a Mixtreme and a 2 Mic/Line box and it works great with Tracktion. Soundscape make great products so you won't be disappointed if you buy from them. I worked on Soundscape DAWs for 5 years in Radio,
and then did tech support for the US office when I moved here.

I wish they would put out a version of the DAW editor that could be used with Mixtremes on a PC, I loved editing audio on those DAWS 8)

Er, It is PC only I thought... I guess youre speaking of the entire soundscape system though.

You use mixpander at all? Im quite curious about it, looks really nice... and Id kill for that drawmer dynamics plug.

Thanks guys~!

the ibox Line8 is only equipped with 20bit converter
that really makes me hesitate. What do you guys think
about their sound quality (mic pre, A/D D/A converter)?

Another concern is there is no dealer at my country,
so i have to order from Beligum and they charge me
15% VAT and it will be troublesome to ship the item
back for repire if any hardware failure...

However the free SSMixer 4.1 come with the hardware is really impressive for me!

And which do you think is their most 'best bang of the buck' plugin for the mixtreme card?

Thanks

I can tell you from experience that Soundscape makes quality products so you don't have to worry about that.

The Audio Toolbox is a great combo of effects. The Mixpander kicks ass when you use it with the DAW.
It gives you a lot of DSP power to run your SS Plugs.
The cool thing about the new mixer is that it allows you to place your favorite VSTi effects in the SS mixer (they still run off the CPU though).
The main things I love about my Mixtreme are the 16 independant audio streams, the fact I can be running Traction + Reason with the ASIO drivers and Cakewalk Plasma (for Slicy Drummer), through the WDM drivers.
I can build a custom Mixer for any occasion and pluging my J Station in to teh SPDIF in gives me a really clean Guitar input. 8)

Hello Kiwi,

I have a silly(maybe) question:

What the point of putting the VST plugs into the
soundscape mixer if I use it with tracktion or other multitracker? I will use my cpu power anyway..

Thanks!

Well if you like to use the Soundscape Mixer to mix your audio you can use both the native plugs you buy and any VSTi effects yo happen to have. I don't tend to do this as I like usng Traction without a mixer, that is why I'm not buying the upgrade to the new software.

Kiwi,

Yeah that makes sense to me.
I am still thinking about getting one, it the software mixer is really cool, but the 15% VAT in Belgium is killing! I thought non-local purchase does not need to pay VAT...

BTW do you do the summing in the SS mixer or tracktion? Many people said analog summing sounds much better.
