ARC 2 strategies.

Is there a way to insert ARC2 after the master meter? A post master monitoring section that allows VSTs would be nice, or maybe you can route a track post master somehow?

Not currently possible but you can set the master volume to 0dB/centre and then add your own 'master' volume and pan plugin to the master plugins section, then add ARC after it to get the same effect?

If you have a multi output interface or 2 or more interfaces you can use Asio-4all drivers to send the ARC to your monitors and your master fader or master track to another output for your headphones mix so you won't have the ARC Plugin in your in your headphones mix witch you don't want .
ARC2 is for you monitors and this way seem to work great. I always make a track and call it master fader and send all my tracks to this master fader track. I place a pass thru rack at the end of this master fader track chain with the (wet turned off and the dry all the way up) going to my headphones output.
Next I create a track and call it ARC plugin. I then I copy the rack on the master fader and place it at the begining of the ARC track and turn the (wet all the way up and turn the dry off ) and then I send this is track outputs to my monitors.
You can put the (all Dry) pass thru rack on the Tracktion master if you like, just make sure it is the last plugin in the chain no plugin can go after the (dry) pass thru rack on your master track or master fader. Take a look at the image below.(Just remember to mute the ARC track when you are ready to export your edits.)

U would want to use the Arc in this manner because the Arc is for room correction not headphones correction. The ARC plugin do a lot of calculation to give this room correction but it will throw a mix off if the plugin is on in your headphones mix.

Not saying you can't adapt but you will be created a learning curve that it not needed because the Arc plugin will alter frequencies to give the best sound for your room not your headphones.

Things will not be what they seam. Its best to hear the difference in the room correction in your monitors and your headphones mix you will make better mixing decision once you get use to the difference in sound between the 2.

Yeah, I use ARC 2 with two other daws and have had it for awhile. It's one of my best purchases ever. Having a Monitor channel that comes after all meters, doesn't affect export, and allows VSTs is the most elegant solution. One of my daws allows that.
Of course it can work with Tracktion too. I'm really liking the simplicity of Tracktion. I wouldn't want to mess that up.

Virtual Audio cable. I downloaded the demo, but couldn't figure it out. I can't find a manual for it.

I just read the Arc 2 Manual and do not understand this thread.

Is it not proper to simply place the plug in last on the Master Buss and keep it on until you are ready to render a mix? The manual says to leave the plug in on during tracking, mixing and mastering, but to turn it off to render the mix.

In Tracktion Witch ever output is set to default will go threw the master fader. So you must have 2 outputs to have a headphones mix. So if your interface making the output change happen post Tracktion master fader your are still hearing the ARC in your headphones mix if your ARC is on the Tracktion master fader. So the the best way to achieve this is keeping the headphones mix on your default output and put your monitors on another output. Theni put dry pass thru rack make sure wet turn off on this rack post all plugins on your master fader and copy this rack place it on the track that ouputs to your monitors with the ARC plugin on this track. Place the copy of the pass thru rack in front the ARC plugin turn wet all the way up and turn the dry off on this rack. This pass thru rack is to make sure all your plugins that go to the master fader will be in both mixes but the ARC will not be in your headphones mix.

It works just fine on the master bus as you describe. What I was asking about was setting it up so the masterbus meters would be correct (ARC2 is pre-meter). If there was a post masterbus fx bin of some kind...you could just turn ARC2 on and forget it.
I'll probably just use the meters on my limiter, and ignore Tracktion's meter until export when ARC2 will be turned off. Remembering to do that is often an issue.

If you make a Arc track use any output other than the default output and placed the ARC at the end of the chain it will be your master fader you can't achieve this going threw the Tracktion master section because Tracktion's default master fader is post everything. It only can be achieved this way inside Tracktion outside its possibly many ways but Tracktion master fader is the master fader for the default output no matter what. I will do a video on this to make it more clear to understand.

I get it. I do believe that DDMF program would work, but I may just work around it.
I have a Presonus VSL44 which is a bit limited.
I will probably master in another program (which has the monitor section I've described) anyway.
