OH, you've already had this one as OSC, too...

First paycheck I got, bought an DX100
Next paycheck, some Roland digital piano.
Then after patching the MIDI cable I was trying to figure out why the sound of the DX100 didn't come out of the piano's speakers ...

That just reminds me of the insane cable spaghetti madness back then. But just playing around with the SQ8L made me realize so much just how awesome things are right now, having it all on the computer, all inside one neat DAW where you can route things to your heart's content and do the most amazing things with the most stunning free vsts alone. And if my cat didn't destroy the USB port of my keyboard, I would only have two cables going off of it (usb and sustain pedal). Now there's also a powercable.... three cables, all looking utterly different... life is good!

Well, I decided to give myself a week for this one (reserving the right to tweak it if necessary). I think today is the week mark after noticing what the synth is or maybe slipped a day or so, but anyway here ya go! Hope you like it (but it's sorta EDM, so sorry in advance). (Also, posting in the right thread this time... seems I got subscribed to the Podolski thread somehow... d'oh!)

Hi, anyone else having soundcloud misbehaving (again). When I select "groups" from the dropdown I just get a blank screen.

Why are you apologizing that it's EDM? I personally think it's cool when we can replicate the sounds of a certain genre (drums included) with only 1 synth. Or is discernible genres a taboo in this challenge? If so, I gotta rework my submission from the ground up XD

Also that song was absolutely amazing

with "Groups" selected, but no info. If I select any of the other links, then they display just fine, just the Groups link does nothing. Pah!

Dragonsongz: any genre is viable. Some are more likely to get votes than others. Z is just being the humble master that he is. EDM has historically done well in the OSC

... hah, yeah. It's fine to make EDM. I've found genre plays a small role in the voting but generally a good song does well, regardless of the style. Just make what you like. The important parts are: don't skimp on the sound design, mixing, composition, etc.. It shows, no matter what genre you're making. For example some amazing orchestral piece with a flute that sounds like a synth and brass that sounds like cheesy saw waves will do poorly because, well, it sounds fake. This fact sorta gives EDM a leg up.

Master: Calf Compressor, Limiter, Tape Simulator

This is my first participation in an OSC, so please be easy on me

I hope I have done everything right, otherwise please give me a hint

How do you update a file on soundcloud without deleting an recreating it?
