I don't care too much about Windows 7 myself, as I have 8.1 and I figure I will buy a new PC when its support is about to die anyway. It will have whatever the newest OS is at that point.

Anyone had these problems with Podolski under Reaper Windows 10 64 bit?

1) stuck notes - This may be a midi thing - maybe I'm losing a note off somewhere but it always is the same channel and always the same pitch. Seems to be when I interrupt playback. Seem to recall having this before with reaper....

2) Clicks - I've found if a note finishes exactly when another one starts I can get clicks? To get rid of the clicks I have to shorten the earlier note a smidge...

:help:
I've run into both of these issues with the same setup you have. Granted, my stuff is all live performance and I'm doing some on-the-fly transpositions... I figured that was the culprit... And the clicks etc. I wrote off to the fact that I'm doing a massive amount of parameter modulations on most of my instances... But if you're seeing the same issues, maybe it's not what I was thinking it was... Oh well... It's all free, so I'm not gonna complain too much! :)

By this you mean just using the automation capabilities in the synth or using automation? (If the latter, I'm curious what would be considered 'massive').

You guys wanna do an osc with the Repro alpha? I could have some fun with that. I haven't done one of these in a while.

Repro alpha would be fun once it is ready. As for now the CPU consumption is too high because it is not optimized yet. It's a mono synth so it would take many instances of Repro to make a song. I tried already and reached something like 4 or 5 instances before my CPU went to 100%. I use i7 3.0GHz with 8Gb RAM and a Focusrite 2i2. But when Urs is finished with it I am sure it will be a lovely synth with a decent CPU consumptions.
Win 10 -64bit, CPU i7-7700K, 32Gb, Focusrite 2i2, FL-studio 20, Studio One 4, Reason 10

I made a little diddy with it the other day. The CPU didn't seem like a problem. Freezing is always an option too. The alpha isn't gonna get optimized from what I've read. They are working towards a commercial release and the alpha was just for testing their filter modeling. I've done OSCs with plugins that crashed all the time so one with wacky CPU usage should be workable. I dunno. It's been fun to play with anyway.

@Ah_Dizz general discussion thread would be ideal for this (and it's been mentioned... as of now, the CPU is a serious issue): http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 8#p6431278

Hello all, a question concerning the use of effects (sorry if this has been answered before): Can I use the built-in DAW effects (for example the Ableton EQ, Compressor etc.)? Not sure because this part of the rules:
The effects must be easily available freeware 3rd party effects. This does not include plug-in betas, demos, magware or freeware that has expired, unless a special exception is made that month.

"Most Native DAW effects may be used"

"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

I had the same problems with clicks in Ableton on windows 10 I didn't experience any hanging notes. Another thing I did notice though is if you select velocity as a modulation source for the master out it does not seem to work. meaning if you want your kicks to respond to velocity you have to use the dedicated control for the adsr and then any envelope mod of pitch or cutoff responds the same amount as volume.

=> DAW: Maschine
=> 8 Instances of Podolski
=> Effects: 3 Compressors, 2 Limiters, 1 Reverb - All Native Maschine Effects

This is my first OSC entry and I hope it's not that horrible ;)

Hi KVR Forum,

This is my first entry.

https://soundcloud.com/reiswolf/reiswol ... -challenge

The track was made in Ableton 9.6.1 . It uses 12 instances of Podolski. Bass, Kick, Snare and some of the pad layers use EQ-8 for a better mix. Kick uses erosion and saturation. Snare uses overdrive and saturation. All subtle. The kick is ducking the other synth except the snare using a compressor and the whole group uses a glue compressor. Again all subtle. There is one send effect, which is a reverb used on the drums. On the master there is a saturation for soft clipping and a limiter to gain around 5db.

Have fun! :)

Since 9.5 a lot of good things happened. The e.g. filters are so good. Nice song z.prime, love your snare!
