I'm not sure if i understand what you mean with this. Please elaborate.

Please also make sure to have read this doc page about recording: http://www.mutools.com/info/docs/mulab/recording.html

If you connect the mic out to the rack in it will not record of course as a rack is not a recorder.
You need to connect the mic to an audio recorder module. In the audio recorder editor you can toggle monitor on/off.

If you're not experienced with modular routing then i'd recommend to stay away from the modular area and do audio recording purely via the tracks because that's much easier. And toggling monitoring on/off can also be done from the track header.

FYI: I'll be making a video about audio recording very soon.

Given you're not helping by supplying your set up details, this just makes you sound incredibly rude, you know? If you think you're being "clear" in your description, you need to think again very carefully - could someone not sitting next to you have any idea how to recreate your set up from the information you've supplied? Not at chance.

"Rack N Recorder" is just a name allocated to a recorder module -- it gets that name because its output is connected to "Rack N" - it doesn't mean anything else, it's just how names are made by default.

The input for this - what it records from - is specified by its front panel. If you want to hear what's coming in on the input before you record, click the Monitor setting to green light (but make sure you've got no feedback route, of course).

You do not need to - and really, really should not - change anything in the modular view to get recording working.

If you take a look at the front panel of the Recorder module and look at what inputs its set to record then think about the routing change you made, you'll understand why what you did wasn't helpful. If you drop down the "Record From" box, you'll see the list of where it could actually record from. That list contains all the audio outs in the session mux (that wouldn't cause a loop). By default, it's set to record directly from your selected audio driver using the inputs selected on the panel. The input pin on the record is not what it's recording.

So, can you try not changing the routing and describing the set up you're trying to record a bit better.

What version of MuLab do you have?
What is your Audio setup?
What are the settings on the recorder module front panel?

Oh, and https://jstuff.wordpress.com/jbridge for bridging.

Are you using the latest MuLab 7.0.36?

Post

I have the same problem. Just checked because of this thread, since I
seldom record my guitar.

I add an audio track and tell it to record from input 2 on my soundcard
and everything seems to work.
I can hear my guitar and the meter on the rack show there are input.
I click record and play but nothing is being recorded.

Specs:
Win 10 64
Mulab 7.0.36 also 64

Soundcard: UR22

P.S I double checked by trying to record some guitar in EnergyXT and there
everything works.
Just to rule out that maybe my soundcard or windows settings were
wrong.
Sound C loud
Band C amp
Clicks and pops is all I get

I can't repeat that. Can you pls send me a screen video. Thx.
