I bought Magnetic 2 a few months ago, and never got the authorization to work, so its stayed in demo mode. I followed the instructions for authorization, and it didn't work. Should probably email NF at this point...

5 pages in and still no word from Don't Crack...doesn't bode well.

Okay - since I'm in the same boat like all of you as NF user... I reached out to Nick Hamilton (Don'tCrack), who was close friends with Bernie Torelli. He assured me to get the ball rolling in terms of answers, but also told me that the "Plugivery guys might be more suitable to answer all this".

Now we have to sit back and wait.

But all these worries are definitely adjusted. Especially of the "Vintage Series" (Pultec, Neve, Motown, Magnetic, Echoes) are now listed as "Legacy" (haven't updated my ISP suite in a while).

Liquid Mod 2 for 9.99 is a steal! Still use that one regularly. :tu:

..and costing just $5 if bought via the Liquid Mod bundle, and even less if bought via the ISP III bundle

Thank you for doing this :) Some reassurance that these products will be supported going forward is all we need, regardless of (new) management.

Otherwise it feels like buying shares in Enron the day before SHTF.

Latest DontCrack.com email newsletter says:
The Nomad Factory Promo of the Century !

In early 2016, we at DontCrack/Plugivery took over Nomad Factory’s management and have saved the company and kept all the employees.

We also implemented a very important element in building an efficient and well documented support system for Nomad Factory. Our new support system can be accessed via the link, help.nomadfactory.com, where we have created lots of answers (FAQs) to general and specific technical questions to aid use of the products and throughly deal with common support queries at first contact. Users can now also easily access their licenses/serials/activation codes via the ‘Licenses’ tab.

In addition to this, Nomad Factory’s R&D team is actively working on new products and since January we launched Drum Tools and Bus Driver.

When we first decided to do the Bus Driver as a giveaway, we planned to stop it after a month or 25,000 units, whichever came first. We gave away twice that number as of March, and had great success reaching out to the audio community.

We are now approaching an amazing total of 60,000 Bus Driver units delivered. We’ve received hundreds of amazing testimonials from users that simply love the sound and feel of the plug-in.

As all Nomad Factory products, Bus Driver is easy to use, has a beautiful GUI, has great colourful textures and at the end, it simply does what it advertises. We’ve even already updated the plug-in to version 1.0.3 with new features reflecting users request. We hope to have pleased everyone.

As of today and for a limited time, we are going to sell Bus Driver, at the no-brainer price of ONLY $4.99, which is the same ridiculous price as a can of your favourite soft drink. Please continue your support, we love that you’re enjoying these superb Nomad Factory products. We are working hard to provide hot new products that will expand the Nomad Factory catalogue and stimulate your musical creativity.
But wait, there’s more…

While we are revamping the company and working on new products, we have decided to make ALL Nomad Factory products available at up to 96% OFF! Yes you heard right, UP TO 96% OFF!!!

Check out our crazy time-limited promo’s for ALL Nomad Factory products, you won’t believe the price reductions. Tell your friends, family, shout it from the rooftops and enjoy using these incredible audio tools at prices that beat all the competition!

They've kept all the staff and they're working on new stuff. Sounds A-OK then?

My speculation: This is simply a way to invigorate sluggish sales post-takeover.

Still the bundle price seems too good to be true - still wonder.. what's the catch? There's gotta be one, right?

I wanted to like MAGMA. But after repeatedly crashing Reaper after simply trying to change presets it doesn't instill much confidence. Even at $45 if preset changing is a struggle, how many other problems must there be?

@morelia - exactly my thoughts...while I love the concept and like the sound of most of the supplied effects, MAGMA is unstable on both of my computers. I noticed strange behavior when the plugin's GUI is open - it uses a lot more CPU power than when it's closed (without any effects inserted it uses 25% on my dated Q8400, closing the GUI reduces the usage to 0% - this is not visible in REAPER's performance view but clearly visible in system performance overview, tested in my other host - Orion - and it's exactly the same so it doesn't seem to be host-dependent). And that seems strange - such high CPU hit even when there's no sound processing? I am still tempted but not sure if I can live with that...plugin that makes REAPER crash is something I don't see too often... :(

This is what I want to know as well (the catch). As long as there is no answer by Plugivery - I'm very hesitant.

During the times that Bernie Torelli fought cancer, i tried to get in touch with the support. And they did not write me back (Nick and Bernie did instead). So I'm even more careful about the "new team".

The biggest fear I have, is that the "new team" simply drops all old plugins (discontinues them), labels them as "legacy", and then performs to only create "new tools" with massive upgrade fees. I mean... the MSRP of Bus Driver was crazy. This up to 96% price slash presses all the wrong buttons with me. And I've been with NF since before ISP Bundle 2 (we're currently on ISP3, but it's technically ISP4).

If we don't see an answer from the new "team" by Tuesday, I'll forward this to Nick again. Plugivery was created by Don'tCrack after all (source)

Nope. This is the most bang for your buck you're ever going to see anywhere. There was a similar sale about four years ago for 99 bucks. To qualify you had to have bought another NF product (or maybe it was a bundle). This sale drops that requirement and they've thrown in Cosmos since that earlier sale. Like I said, best bang for your buck anytime, anywhere.

A lot have changed in 4 years

What kind of updates have been added in that timeframe?

Post

To my knowledge, only COSMOS, ECHOES, MAGNETIC and the ANTEC EQ - in order of: All-Tech, Magnetic, Echoes, Cosmos.

The BBE bundle was always separate, so was MAGMA.

Most of the development after that went into MAGMA and the VIP Bundle on Don't Crack.

So these are challenge/response, correct?

How easy are they to authorize?
