i have tried using mono plugs but if i bounce them out they are still stereo channels,so how do you convert a stereo track into mono in tracktion?

Post

To the best of my knowledge, you go clip fx, and under the drop down go "mono"

There are probably other ways, but that is the one I know of.

Hi !

When I want to convert a stereo clip in a mono clip, I render the clip or I export it.
When you render or you export it, in the corresponding window which opens, you don't activate the "stereo" case. And you render. The rendered clip is mono.
After that, if you've exported it, import it as it is : mono clip.
If you've rendered it, it is mono.
It's my workflow for converting existing stereo clips in mono clips.

Hope that helps...
Have fun !

Its 5 ways to get a mono signal from a clip that the five ways I know of 5 ways to achieve this in Tracktion the first 2 are my go to ways of getting my clips mono.

1. Tracktion edit clip option in the clip propety tab select (make clip mono) this will permanently change the file mono.

2.Turn off the right or left channel of a clip in the clip properties panel. This will mute the left or right channel. This way you can pick the channel you like the best.

3.Effect clip option on the top of each clip you can select the mono effect.

4.Render the clips and select mono when you render it.

5.Add a patch bay fiter to the track and send both outputs to to one channel

Yeah, number one is the most elegant imho. But I'm assuming we are all using 7, and I think that was the first time it was introduced.

The first one has always been a option in Tracktion.

For what ever reason I thought the the first one was what you mentioned as 3.
