Thats what I do :D

Actually me and Jen usually use screenshots, our own photos and drawings, and she mashes them up nicely in a photo editor for me. (I bought her some roses for the last one)

Hi, in line with BJ's notes about entries ... hehe ... here's my first draft of my entry. 28 instances of Podolski in Reaper. This version has no volume automation yet, this is just a "levels mix" to see what you all think ...

Enjoy ...

Except for one, all of my images are CC photos from the the Hubble telescope. There are a ton of CC images on the web if you go looking. Like some of the other guys on here, I am a professional artist, but I have been too lazy to do anything from scratch  Actually, it is awesome to see some monster artists like Jasinski and Taron on here participating in the OSC...and they also happen to create amazing music.

I am planning on remixing and remastering my 7 OSC tracks to date and calling it an album(with me being enamoured to all things 7) , so I will eventually get around to doing some original artwork for them 8)

I usually use some of my fractal artworks - fits well for ambient, abstract, dark themes :)

Thanks gentlemen (& ladies... ntot oo sure if there are any for the suggestions!
bjporter wrote: Some ideas to get there:

#1 - Put extra time into it
#2 - Post your progress here a lot, and ask what sucks about it, and what can be improved, or suggestions (be mentally prepared for that kind of criticism with open mind).
#3 - Make the track memorable. Preferably add a nice melodic factor, and lots of cool parts
#4 - Good percussion helps, but not always.
#5 - Use 2 or 3 reference tracks of good quality, comparable to your style, and try and compare the mixing to yours (using spectral analysis, amplitude analysis, and your ears). Also compare sounds, and vibe.
#6 - Instead of posting a 5 minute prototype... try working on 30 seconds to 1 minute and make it sound amazing (maybe it would be like the chorus of your song) and polished. Then you can just stretch it out, add more parts, automation and you've got your tune.
#7 - catchy intro
1.. Definitely
2... Haven't tried to get opinions before (go figure). I guess I could post a couple of examples up. I used to produce for more people than myself & I'm used to harsh criticism so no worries there.
3... That's usually my goal. I'm used to doing music for other people and they usually want me to dumb it down more. I have to remember here I can be as extravagent as I wish :hyper:
4 & 5.... I suually work the hardest on the percussion for OSCs. However, I rarely reference other songs. This is a good tip!
7... Thanks... that's why we have 30 days to gel on it.

Good suggestions, Bjporter. I'll put a couple of examples up tomorrow & think of some references tracks.
I read more than post = I listen more than I talk
