Nomad Factory Product Activation

Thank you for purchasing Nomad Factory Software. After you install your software, please locate the folder named “Authorize Your Machine” which can be found on the install disc or downloaded installer file. Inside this folder you will find the following tool to authorize your software:
- Software Activation Tool Double click to launch the Software Activation Tool and select an option below to begin the authorization process.

Online Activation:
In order to activate your software using Online Activation, your computer must be connected to the Internet. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, please choose Offline Activation. (For instructions on how to use Offline
Activation, skip ahead to page 7)

Step 1:
After installing your software, you will notice a folder included called “Authorize Your Machine”. Open that folder and
double-click on the application: “Software Activation”

Step 2:
The following window will appear (see below). Once you have verified that your computer is connected to the Internet,
then click “Online Activation” to continue. If you choose to Quit before activating, the product will run in DEMO mode.

Step 3:
Next you will see a page asking you to enter and confirm your email address and your serial number, which you received
when you purchased. Enter your information in the fields provided and click “Authorize” activate your software over the
Internet. Make sure you enter your serial number exactly how is it written – using dashes with no spaces before or after.
Click “Authorize”.

Step 4:
When you click authorize, your internet browser will be automatically opened and a license file will be downloaded. Make
sure your internet browser does not block the pop-up window or file download.

Step 5:
Go back to the Software Activation and click “Read License File”. This will open up a finder window on your desktop.
Locate the .auth file which downloaded to your downloads folder or desktop and click “Open”.

Step 6:
After your software is successfully activated, a Congratulations window will appear. We recommend backing up your
license files. You can find your Licenses at the locations listed below. Click Quit and begin using your new Nomad
Factory Software.
After your software is successfully activated, you will see the following window below. Click Quit and begin using your
new Nomad Factory Software. Enjoy!
*Alternatively you can drag/drop the license file to the locations listed above. This license file can now be copied
to multiple computers and it will authorize up to 4 machines simultaneously.

Offline Activation:
In order to activate your software using the Offline Activation, please follow these instructions:
Since your computer is not connected to the Internet, you will use Offline Activation to generate an authorization file and
then copy it to another computer that has an Internet connection.

Step 1:
After installing your software, you will notice a folder included called “Authorize Your Machine”. Open that folder and
double-click on the application: “Software Activation Tool”

Step 2:
The following window will appear (see below). Once you have verified that your computer is NOT connected to the
Internet, then click “Offline Activation” to continue. If you choose to Quit before activating, the product will run in DEMO
mode.

Step 3:
Next you will see a page asking you to enter and confirm your email address and your serial number, which you received
when you purchased. Enter your information in the fields provided and click “Authorize”. Make sure you enter your serial
number exactly how it is written – using dashes with no spaces before or after. Click “Authorize”.

This will generate a .html file on your desktop.
Copy that .html file to a portable storage device
(such as an external hard drive or USB flash drive) and then connect that drive to a computer that has Internet access.
Once you are online, simply double-click on the .html file to launch your Internet browser and connect with
NomadFactory.com. Follow the instructions to download your license file.

Step 4:
After downloading your license file, the authorization file (.auth) will appear on your desktop. Copy the downloaded file to
a portable storage device and transfer it back over to the computer on which you’ve installed your Nomad Factory
Software. Click on “Read License File” and select the file you have copied to authorize your computer.

Step 5:
After your software is successfully activated, you will see the following window below. Click Quit and begin using your
new Nomad Factory Software. Enjoy!

I just downloaded the demos for ISP3 & Magma and decided to buy them. They gave me an additional 5% off as well.
The Authorization Tool was in the install file for ISP3. It's pretty easy to use.

Magma has an Authorize window in its GUI, also easy.

As for crashing, I ran into Magma crashing when changing Presets.
If you load the "Empty Preset" and then load the new Preset, it doesn't crash, so far anyway.

I also bought Magma yesterday and experienced the same thing. When loading presets it crashed while loading individual rack effects worked fine. I will continue testing it and see how it goes.

I like the sound of it and I also like what it can do.

i also bought magma last friday. no crashes so far using the 64bit magma vst with the newest 64bit ableton live version on windows 7 64bit. i like the sound of the effects. i was looking for some nice vintage effects and the retro flanger and retro phaser are great. like boydbob already mentioned and in contrast to the long post of aloysius there is no challenge/response and no need to go online for the authorization. after purchase you receive an authorization code that works like a nomal serial number. this auhorization code is inserted into the authorization window that pops up after the installation and, voila, that's it. nice effects for a great price

Perhaps they should remove this text from their site as it is clearly in contrast with your interpretation and experience of their form of copy protection ...

i agree with you completely. however, what i wrote is not my interpretation but the authorization i did after purchasing and installing magma.

The confusion probably has arisen because some of their plugins *do* have c/r, and some don't. I bought 3 Nomad Factory plugins from dontcrack and this was the copy protection of each:

Integral Studio Pack 3 - Challenge/Response to generate an .auth file
Magma - Serial from dontcrack (was actually confusing as during install it actually pointed me to get c/r from Nomad but I just put the code in!
BusDriver - Serial from dontcrack

First I want to apologies for the slow reply (it's been crazy here). I also want to thank all of you for posting such constructive comments and testimonials in this Nomad Factory thread. Really feels good ! I'll try to answer a few general questions here.

I also want to mention that MAGMA is a concern for us. We know it has some issues particularly in certain DAWs like reaper and others. MAGMA is a fantastic product but the issues mainly come from the fact that the plug-in can also "host" 3rd party VST plug-ins, and that is very tricky to handle considering the numerous amount of DAWs available with so many different versions. Any plug-in that can host third party plug-ins have some issues and we'll work on it to make it more stable ASAP...

As you guys should know by now, we at DontCrack/Plugivery have taken over Nomad Factory’s management after the passing away of Bernie in January, 2016. It was and still is a difficult task as we unfortunately didn’t have time to manage that with him while he was alive. We had access to Nomad’s servers but we had to figure out where and how the databases was stored and organized in order to import all data needed to follow-up with customer support, dealers, third party licensing, invoicing and much more, not mentioning product development, etc. We’ve been busy

Following comments, I've asked our webmaster to rename the "All Legacy Products" link to "All Previous Products" in our new Nomad Factory Download Manager. While at some point we may decide to make some of Nomad's products "legacy", we are certainly not there yet. Our CEO Eric Nolot was a very close friend of Bernie and he spent time in Los Angeles with Bernie's family and he came back to the office with a huge quantity of hard drives that contain all Nomad Factory's source codes. It is a monumental task to read through all backups and find the latest releases.

We are actively working with the developers to import all of Nomad's data in a modern frame work and see how we can optimise previous sources to fit the new framework that we use in today's development.

We obviously first want to upgrade all products so that they all use the same copy protection system such as the one used in Bus Driver and Drum Tools. But it's not as easy as it looks... Previous products had iLok or challenge response protection calls everywhere in the code and it's not easy to "remove" it. We also need to be careful so that updated products are backward compatible with your old sessions and that saved presets sound exactly as they were saved... That is where we might consider making some products "legacy" and simply re-write these products while keeping Bernie's sound and feel from previous versions. Somehow delicate !

The actual Nomad promo that we are running is doing crazy well and I want to tell everyone here at KVR that it isn't some kind of a last shot before we drop them legacy. You guys know that DontCrack and Nomad Factory is an old time story and that we have always greatly supported Bernie's work. We even had to struggle here at KVR and other forums where users have not always been great Nomad supporters... Many compared his products with brands that have powerful marketing and use well known designs and legendary logos on their GUIs.

Bernie never accepted to "emulate" typical hardware products or even compare his plug-ins with famous analog brands. As a confirmed producer and sound engineer, he new that a plug-in could never fully emulate a famous console channel strip, a legendary compressor an EQ, an effect, etc. That has been very prejudicial to his work at some point and he was sometimes really pissed off when users blessed a famous logo on a competitors GUI.

Thankfully, many renowned artists, producers, musicians and other engineers alike mentioned how much they like to use Nomad Factory's plug-ins in their work and that has been very useful to Nomad's success. While there are "references" to hardware products like the Bus Driver "Model 1176/LA2" that guides the user in which type of effect he is dealing with, anyone will agree that Nomad Factory plug-ins have a sound, a color and a look of their own and that is the most important thing for a brand name to become famous...

Nomad Factory has been creating fine products for over 10 years and we will do our very best to keep the company up and create great new products that inspired thousand of artists along the years. We will keep Bernie's spirit in mind with the developers that learned so much from working with him over the years !

I've personally enjoyed using Nomad plug-ins these past years and I will strongly insist so that the devs upgrade the "Blue Tubes" series that for me sounds amazing ! I also LOVE the Magnetics Bundle and many others... Bus Driver is a no brainer

If you made it up to here, you're a real Nomad fan and we thank you for that !

Our actual Nomad Factory promos are all true No Brainer Deals for anyone that uses audio plugins in their daily work. It is a great opportunity for you to discover how good these plug-ins sound with no regards with hardware emulation. Just download them and try them out for yourself.

Hey Theo,

It's been a while and hope you are well.

For me and many users, Nomad's are stable but I again understand that we need to look into all DAWs in ALL versions with ALL available OS systems...

We have taken over all of Nomad's support as we understand how frustrating it is to be kept on hold.

As mentioned above, we are restructuring the hole project and hope to come up with updates that fixes bugs ASAP.

Feel free to contact us with documented crash logs that will assuredly be transferred to the devs...
