Hello all,
I'm a big fan of Satin.
At the moment I'm struggling to make a dirty, lo-fi cassette setting but everything sounds a bit too pristine.
Does anyone have a 'cassette' preset they can share?
Thanks
Ben

What does cassette tape even sound like? Worn, bassy cassettes? Harsh, no bass at all cassettes? I have memories of both and everything in between.
Try out something like this:
1. Tape: Vintage
2. Input: back it off about 7db (use makeup or Output to adjust)
3. Reference: -20db (let's saturate early)
4. Soft Clip On
4. Speed: slowest setting
5. Pre-emphasis: 11 o'clock
6. Encoder: B-Type
7. Hiss: 1 o'clock
8. Asperity: 2 o'clock
9. Crosstalk: 11 o'clock
10: Wow & Flutter: 1 o'clock
11: Bias: 1 o'clock
12: Gap Width: 10 o'clock
13: Bump: 10 o'clock
14: Azimuth: 9 o'clock
15: Circuit: IEC 7.5 ips
16: Headroom: 8db
That should be a bassy cassette type sound. Now, play around with Pre-Emphasis (lower for bassier, higher for brighter) and Speed (similar). Note: speed will also impact the wow and flutter so you may need to back that off some if too wobbly. If you increase the Pre-Emphasis too much, it'll lose some lo-fi-ness, decreasing it all the way down will really get things muddy and distorted. You may need to adjust the hiss levels too.
Try that out and let us know if it works or if it helps you find an even cooler setting.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?
