Yes, I have several expanders and they all load perfectly. They're recycle 2 files and some waves, which all import perfectly. They don't come as proprietary Geist files, meaning you can use the loops and samples in any sampler or daw that is recycle compatible.Gosh wrote:not sure if it has been asked before but will the geist expansion packs be compatible with geist 2?

If Strobe 2 is any benchmark (as someone said here in this topic) it will be like: $99 for version 1 in current promo, $79 for update and $179 for full version 2... But it's just me guessing - nothing official AFAIK so far...

I'm not sure I fully understand the answer - expanders come with Geist presets & kits included - are these compatible with the v2 format ?
I was pretty upset that Strobe 2 doesn't support V1 presets, or that there's no sign of FXPansion bringing out free 'updates' to the preset packs I purchased from them for Strobe 1 - I hope Geist is not the same

this is exactly why i was asking this question. it would be great if one of the betatesters or someone from fxpansion could comment on this.MikeCallon wrote:Hi,masterhiggins wrote:Yes, I have several expanders and they all load perfectly. I could be wrong, but I don't think I am:MikeCallon wrote:Hi,masterhiggins wrote:Yes, I have several expanders and they all load perfectly. In Strobe 2, turn on the Legacy button.. then click the 'import' button... and you can import Strobe 1 presets. Seems a bit silly to me though, because importing should show Strobe 1 as an option regardless of whether Legacy is enabled or not - I'll mention it to Angus.
And yes, Geist 2 will support Guru and Geist 1 content. There might be some sonic differences, but nothing massively significant.

Can anyone recommend which expanders? I grabbed Best Of Guru to give a flavour and tocover different genres but couldn't decide on another. It's for house mainly but i thought one with a good collection of breaks would be good for fills and layering, i've already got plenty of perc and one shots from my Splice subscription!
At older presets Strobe 2 has a legacy mode and the old factory presets work so you'd think expansions would work, i've been trying to figure that out myself.
Ah just saw Drews reply, will give it a shot later!

I think that he's referring to the fusor-incorporated presets. I know fxpansion is still reconsidering the future implementation of it. A lot of the himalaya sound banks use fusor so they can't be opened with the new versions of strobe 2 and cypher 2 (beta). I hope they're able to allow import if/when fusor is re-implemented.

OMG literally nearing pulling trigger on GEIST tonight since my NI Battery is causing me and my host severe issues - glad I was intrigued enough by their recent twitter post to go hunting on these forums before I did!

Thank you very much !
I can spot a "FXpansion reverb", along with the older ones, a welcomed "Amber chorus", a tilt balance, an enhancer, Driver, Maul, Dirty DAC, PhaseMod array, Bloom (! ! !)...
