Don't all software companies 'push' their software? FWIW we haven't paid for any FL Studio marketing in over 10 years now.

A few of people (in forums like KVR) have been predicting the demise of FL Studio for the last 18 years. The Lifetime Free Updates model is far more powerful than you probably think.

Never owned Kore. I just know what happens to most companies when they start dabbling outside their realm. I do enjoy how some of you assume these things though. It's endless amusement to me.

Eh, maybe I'm right, maybe I'm wrong. These are slightly satirical predictions as no one can see the future. All I can say is prove me wrong and we'll talk in another 18 years. Hopefully Image-Line still around. Nice job not paying for marketing though. Not a lot of companies can say that.

Yeah well, everybody knows FLS has lifetime updates. Maybe you don't put money in it, but I can't imagine FLS won't pay you for being active here. Thus you have no point in stating here that FLS doesn't put money in marketing. I'm sorry, but I'm Dutch. I have to know such things

Who will and will not be around in 10 years?

-Apple (will last)
-Presonus (hardware and software for live and recording - will last)
-Motu (hardware and software for recording and video - will last)
-Native Instruments (Komplete, Maschine & Traktor - will last)
-Cockos (small business - should last for 10 years)
-Cakewalk (=gibson - I don't know)
-Steinberg (=yamaha - will last)
-Propellerhead (I don't know)
-Image-line (free updates - I don't know)

Maybe the free update stategy of Image Line will surprise us.

I was looking for video editing software and at blackmagicdesign.com I can download very professional software for free. The extremely professional version is 1000$, but I don't need that. Is the something we will see in music software?

reason started off the previous decade from a position of weakness... they had a choice to make, upgrade their crappy 1999 framework or sit on their reputation and milk their cow, they chose the latter, now are irrelevant.
FL is starting this coming decade as the most powerful and flexible DAW without contest - its only problems are inaccessibility and steep learning curve.

Why inaccesibility for FL Studio? It has a lot of features but I think the basic functionality is pretty easy to grasp.

Yeah maybe for FLS, but for your plugins it is an absolute Joke, you tried to see the Sytrus ui on a modern monitor hahaha, and lets not even go in to the horrific crashes on your plugins outside of FLS, especially the ones that are supposed to work on Mac.
But go on, come up with some other marketing nonsense considering Il do no marketing, I'm surprised you dont choke on your own silliness, you do realise that a website is marketing, all the sales that Il do are marketing, you being on this forum.......wait for it, marketing.
Just because you hide behind modern methods, does not mean they are not marketing.

Yes, that seems to be what he's saying in the video. At the same time, he's pretty enthusiastic about it so I imagine it's more than just a re-hash of the way every other DAW does it. I could definitely see them coming out with an NKS mixing surface with proper faders, which could be that hardware component you're thinking of.

Also, with komplete noticed over the years they have been consolidating the komplete line with focusing on reaktor and kontakt.
It's how they started. Reaktor was first and Kontakt was second. Besides Maschine and Traktor, I believe all their products over the years have been derived from Reaktor and Kontakt.

Nope. I bought it via upgrade from v. 2 when it was released. Thought it was a complete disaster. Sold it after a month and switched back to Logic after many years. Mac performance somehow actually got worse among many other "upgrades".
