Okay Ashley and Peter, the first thing I'd ask you is to maybe tone down the subtle link drops and "have you checked out XYZ" - this went down all the wrong pipes with IKM in recent years. There is aggressive marketing, then there is constant thread hijacking, and then there are the humble devs being like "sure - we'll answer your questions".

Which brings me to my main point - you evade(!) questions.

Here they are again (at least mine):
Compyfox wrote:So as longtime user, I have one main question:

What about the ISP bundle? AFAIK we're currently on Engine v4, but if it's sold it's still called ISP3 Bundle.
What about upgrading the bundle with new tools?
And will we pay TRIPLE for that upgrade wise? (I for example can't jump on any deal, because I already have all but MAGMA and the BBE bundle).
Add to that the questions:
- will we ISP users see implementations of "previously released plugins" sooner than "after 2 years" this time around? Unless that is a moot point with the 99USD sale - completely slashing the value of the bundle.

I AM an ISP bundle user, and I don't want to pay for things triple - yet I don't want to feel left out as somebody that actually invested money rather than jumping in super low sales. And to be honest - Drum Tools doesn't interest me atm.

I also ask in advance due to the comment "more plugins will be released the next months" - probably at insane prices, with no integration into the ISP bundle (at least not anytime soon).

So... yeah.

Where do we go from there?

Hi Compyfox,
Okay Ashley and Peter, the first thing I'd ask you is to maybe tone down the subtle link drops and "have you checked out XYZ" - this went down all the wrong pipes with IKM in recent years. There is aggressive marketing, then there is constant thread hijacking, and then there are the humble devs being like "sure - we'll answer your questions". Thanks for the heads up ! I guess we tried to answer seven pages of questions and perhaps firstly those who haven't yet purchased and need to be reassured to pull the trigger. job conditioning I guess :? But we've also mentioned some things that should have answered at least some of your (and other members) questions about the future of Nomad Factory... I will try to do better here !
So as longtime user, I have one main question: Where do you we go from there?
Great question, let's go have a beer or two :drunk:
What about the ISP bundle? AFAIK we're currently on Engine v4, but if it's sold it's still called ISP3 Bundle.
Yes you are right! While the engine as be updated sometime ago, we kept the ISP3 name until we have a major upgrade release?
What about upgrading the bundle with new tools?
Obviously planned !
And will we pay TRIPLE for that upgrade wise? (I for example can't jump on any deal, because I already have all but MAGMA and the BBE bundle).
Well thanks for being such a loyal customer ! But you can now JUMP on MAGMA for ONLY $39! That's right ONLY $39 bucks with FREE shipping! But wait, there's more... :D

Yeah I know, I'm a funny guy ;-)

Back to the question : While the Nomad team coded BBE products and distributed them via Nomad's website, these are apart and we have already reflected that at Plugivery and DontCrack. BBE is a brand on its own and they'll never be part of a Nomad Factory Bundle for as long as I know...
Add to that the questions: will we ISP users see implementations of "previously released plugins" sooner than "after 2 years" this time around? Unless that is a moot point with the 99USD sale - completely slashing the value of the bundle.
Here I feel you are a little rude. ISP3 as been upgraded (with engine 4) and we included best sellers Magnetic II, Cosmos and Echoes
I AM an ISP bundle user, and I don't want to pay for things triple - yet I don't want to feel left out as somebody that actually invested money rather than jumping in super low sales. And to be honest - Drum Tools doesn't interest me atm.
Yes but you can now buy Drum Tools at ONLY... :o

I totally understand the problem but while some professionals like you purchase products at launch and pay a certain price for them (sometimes introductory ;-), at the end most products and bundles (in terms of quantity) have been sold during hard discount promotions. That's todays market and it's the same for all software companies we deal with. We've always supported loyal customers when they contact us...

Also, if you look at our previous announcements, we have always covered our loyal customers and I don't even recall the last time we had an upgrade product page for Nomad Products. No one as ever paid for a P&M upgrade either ;-)

Tat last, here's what Ashley mentioned above concerning upgrades : "But, please be aware that this may take some time as the developers and team need to review code from 40+ hard drives recovered from Nomad HQ, may need to reverse engineer and bring them up-to-date through a new framework. We also wish to enhance them, so stay tuned for updates."

Well I hope that answers your thoughts for now. We'll do our very best to keep Nomad things up and running but please be just a little patient, we have a lot to deal with while other companies also rely on us to launch, promote, upgrade their products...

Meanwhile, the Nomad promo is doing very very well and that surely assures continuity !

Thank you all for the massive support.

Kind Regards - Peter

The question in this case - what is considered "major upgrade"?
And what will be bundled.

Good to hear. Probably no ETA yet due to restructuring and the HDD / code salvaging. Which is only understandable.

I figured that actually - but my main concern is the upgrade fee for ISP users.

You see, the MSRP for ISP was 599USD (yes, I also got it discounted at some point).
To my knowledge, the upgrades were always something between 30-80USD. And then the one or another plugin "seeded" into the ISP bundle.

My question is... how will you perform with this from now on?
What will upgrade fees be? Will there be crossgrades from "what you already have", or from the VIP bundle, etc? Small details, big impact IMO. So a lot to discuss internally.

Plugivery wrote:

Here I feel you are a little rude.
Could be - busy, tiring weeks recently, lots of beta testing (with all bells and whistles), etc. Could be that my posts come on stronger than usual lately. Sorry about that.

Plugivery wrote:ISP3 as been upgraded (with engine 4) and we included best sellers Magnetic II, Cosmos and Echoes
Er... I remember it a bit different.

The time that the ALL-TECH was released, ISP3 was fairly fresh. During the following years, ECHOES, Magnetic II, Cosmos and MAGMA (which I still like to call "StylusRMX effects outsourced") surfaced. i think it took almost two years until Echoes and Magnetic turned into part of ISP3, then he update to Engine 4 came (bundling Cosmos), MAGMA was still separate. Parallel to that, the VIP bundle flourished. And then came the cancer news... after that... somewhat of a grinding halt.

What I'm aiming at, is the long waiting times for the bundle users.

This should definitely be handled a bit different IMO. Maybe just 3-6 months of waiting time from now on, with a small upgrade fee (20 bucks maybe) ever so often rather than 1-2 years and no upgrade fee, or 99bucks.

Just my two cents.

Except that things kind of got lost in translation during the cancer months... at least my experience. Though I am not saying that the support was bad (you actually fixed one bug I found in the British NEQ fairly quick IIRC) - just very, very delayed.

What seems to be a trigger issue currently, is the huge price slash of up to 96% discount. A lot of us longtime KVRians have seen that many, many times with companies that were like "one time only", and a couple of week later - they dropped off the planet. Hence our skepticism.

Can't speak for P&M (aka the VIP bundle) as I'm not a user of that set (yet), but yes... it's been a while to pay for the ISP bundle upgrades.

Personally I'm still hesitant and on a tight budget. So no further Nomad Factory material for me (read: Drum Tools and MAGMA, not counting the P&M suite either - and I've yet to install Bus Driver, busy weeks...). But we at least now know what's up.

Still... another company to keep a closer eye on...

I have to agree there. I recently called an American dude a "bitch" because he got to play around with a nice shiny piece of expensive hardware.

Of course I had to explain that many Aussie dudes call each other names like that to show their envy with the other person.

Pointing out grammar errors is just a way to take the piss out of someone, but in a non offencive way...

That is unless someone misinterprets it. Haha!!

Wait wait wait.... Am I making this up right now, or did I really read this as cross reference?
Am I understanding this right that "Ashley_Plugivery" is actually Ashley Smith? Formerly associated with Slate Digital?

Sadly there is no emoticon that currently fits my expression... somewhat in a state of shock and surprise...

Yes, that seems to be correct, found some Ashley Smith on LinkedIn with references to both Slate Digital and Plugivery (and many others actually)...now, is your surprise more on the positive side or rather the opposite? :-)

This. Strangely enough Nomad Factory has never "clicked" with me either. I have tried various stuff over the years but always felt a bit meh. Even the 8$ did not convince me to get anything even though I re-tried some of the Blue Tubes series of plugins.

I do like Plug & Mix a lot, which seems to be some warmed over Nomad Plugins and Modules from Magma.

I also want to mention that MAGMA is a concern for us. We know it has some issues particularly in certain DAWs like reaper and others. MAGMA is a fantastic product but the issues mainly come from the fact that the plug-in can also "host" 3rd party VST plug-ins, and that is very tricky to handle considering the numerous amount of DAWs available with so many different versions. Any plug-in that can host third party plug-ins have some issues and we'll work on it to make it more stable ASAP...
This grabbed my attention...I purchased Magma (together with ISP3 bundle) although it doesn't work too well on my computers (truth is they're both rather dated - laptop with T7200 CPU and Win7 32bit, Q9400 in the desktop system running Win7 64bit).

The plugin is very CPU demanding - it uses 60% of each core on T7200 and around 25% of each core on Q9400 - and that's right after I insert it to a project (doesn't matter if it's Orion or Reaper) without any sound processing.

Adding effects has almost no impact on the performance, as soon as I close the GUI the CPU usage decreases to normal level and the plugin works normally...is there a hope that there will be a new version coming (anytime soon)? I really love the concept of this and the effects aren't too bad either, it would be great if it worked a bit more efficiently on the GUI part... :)

Yes, sure, I can be mistaken...the LinkedIn profile seems to be rather clear in this regard though (I mean there's Ashley Smith who used to work for Slate Digital and who is currently working for Plugivery, so I guess it's the same person you were referring to). Anyway, I am leaving this up to Plugivery to confirm...or not. :) Cheers!

Okay - now that this is official... I'm voicing my relief.

Though my only issue I'm having with this - you're (sadly?) not sitting in the Support Section of NF.
