+1. And that's not even taking into account that I guess most people do use 61 key-keyboards, which means, in the worst case, octave jumping to reach the last slices.sharke wrote:So is there a way to limit slicing operations to 16 pads? I'm hoping somebody can help me out - I am new to Geist 2 and am trying to find a way to quickly hot swap out samples while the pattern is playing. Thanks

Click on the pad, then turn on "A Load" button in the sample browser, this automatically adds the sample to the selected pad when clicked, not really hot-swapping as you lose the 1st sample, but then you could use the undo button in the top right to get the original hot swapped sample

Agreed. A lot of devs need to learn what a "major" upgrade is. Maybe Rory from fxp can make them a video tutorial.V0RT3X wrote:Now this is what i call a "Version 2"
I'm quite impressed so far with all the features added!

I didn't know you can play keyboard on a launchpad. But hey.. all you wanted is to be smart, right? Try again..kwilson wrote:Or use a 64 pad controller like a novation launchpad?Boardwalk wrote:Mmkay stupid hw devs need to upgrade to 64 keys. I'm surrounded by dummies at this planet

Of course they will fix things. They should do that in advance though. But hey.. this place is an ocean of voluntary beta testers. Which leaves the customer no power at all in regard to their purchase. Okidoki, not?
Remember though: the worst slave is a voluntary one (Nigerian proverb).

I'm guessing the bulk of the testers aren't there to test, but get free software before everyone else.. so big bugs get missed..Boardwalk wrote:Of course they will fix things. Sorry wasn't trying to be smart, missed someone else's post further up about 61 keys.Boardwalk wrote:I didn't know you can play keyboard on a launchpad. It's a big issue for me so I would be very grateful if this was added. I often found that slicing a sample into pad layers and round robining (or randomizing) them often led to some nice variations and happy accidents, so it's a major bummer to lose this in Geist 2. I can't imagine it would be that hard to add an option to limit the slices to a user defined number of pads.Amberience wrote:Not currently but doesn't sound like a bad feature request!sharke wrote:So is there a way to limit slicing operations to 16 pads? It's just assigning slices to individual pads no matter whether I have this turned off or on. Unless I'm missing something.
