Guess I'll wait weeks or even months before upgrading then .... no point in having a new version that won't read my (many!) presets. This should be stated clearly on the website - this is a showstopper (for me and many others I would guess) :(
I don't see your point. You are able to keep the old versions running together with the new versions. Existing projects can't even open the new versions because they are identified differently. So, you have the old versions to play the old patches. By holding on to upgrade, you will not be able to use the new plug-ins (like the Synclavier V, which, alone, would justify the upgrade, IMO), and that just because you cannot convert immediately your patches, which you can still play using the old versions, which you have to keep, anyway, for a matter of compatibility with existing projects.
My point is, that I've spent a lot of time crafting my own patches. If I have to use the 'old' versions of the synths to be able to load these patches then why upgrade ? I'm sure I could recreate these in the new versions - but I have a life

Doesn't work (any longer?)
Still available for $168.49 from PluginDiscounts

Uff I have to say... This thread looks to have devolved in to spoon feeding some people who are too lazy to go to the website and try the demos...

I do admire the job of the guys at Arturia who are coming on here babysitting...

But on a more positive note, I'm really liking the new interfaces and am in awe of the Synclavier V. Seems to scale well on retina displays too! :tu:

Audiodeluxe has it also for the discounted price...

How does it work to order from the US when living in Europe? Are there any further taxes or anything, which will be added to the price at some later stage?

I am wondering, because import charges on ebay transactions can be horrendous.

Thanks.

This is what I have too :(

No, there are no additional taxes for this download versions. The only thing with all this resellers is that you see the discounted price only if logged in and has added some stuff to the basket. They don't show the discounted price on the front page or the product page.

From what I can see from rooting around in folders is that presets were previously stored as monolithic banks, whereas they are now stored individually.

All a preset is is a bunch of values, which is why many devs store them as human readable plain text or XML files. In both cases here they are in an encrypted/compressed format.

If it was a straight conversion, one would imagine it is a case of just decompressing, running a conversion script, and recompressing. A few hours work to package up and release a script to do that.

Clearly it is not though, if it will take weeks or months. So, this might indicate some DSP changes in older plugins? Hopefully.
Thanks - bought it and will investigate further. Very cool update.

Lazy, eh?

Well some people just don't have the time to demo stuff which may in the worst case mess up their setup.

If you have the time good for you.

Nope, no luck.

Maybe it's country based?

The demo versions are completely different DLLs so there is no way to "mess up" their current setup. You can run both versions of the V Collection side by side if you want.

You mean 199 dollar, or 169 dollar? I always get the 199 on both Audiodeluxe and Plugindiscount, both logged in.

At least no taxes and no Euro. :?

The Synclavier! Wow! Can't stop playing and tweaking it! What a sound! It is so damn musical, and with this so low cpu? Amazing! Maybe it is just a dream? I need to wake up! :hihi:

This might be the best Arturia instrument. This is the star of the collection IMO. Definitely it will be my best synth of the year (if not ever!). Starting to save some money for it because there is no way I won't get it.

Congratulations Arturia for making the King of the synths!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

IMO, worth the entire upgrade price on its own.
