Hi Vojtech
I know you have a video showing Mcompare but that video focus more on what Mcompare can do, which is great, but I would like to know more details on how to use Mcompare. I tried it and loaded up a reference track and also put in the mix from the DAW. But for some reason I can't switch between the reference track and my mix in the DAW.
So what I want to know is how to load up my tracks from the DAW in a correct way and how to switch between the reference track and my own track
Many thanks!

I use MCompare a lot.
It sounds like you've loaded the tracks already? For example you've loaded an earlier mix, and a reference track?*
If so, to hear them just click on one of the big squares while playing your mix, and the earlier mix/reference track will be playing instead of the current mix. It's a toggle, so to go back to hearing your current mix again, click on the big square again.
* If you haven't loaded up the previous mix/reference track yet, click on the spy glass icon in each big box to open up a navigation window to the track on your HD you'd like to load.

I did not mixdown and created any wav file or anything. I tried to load up my song directly into Mcompare and then I loaded up one mp3 song that I wanted to use as reference. I could see both my own song and the reference song in Mcompare. But when I click the square to listen to the reference track nothing happens. I could only listen to my own song. When I removed my own song and only had the reference song loaded up, then I could listen to that.
According to the Mcompare video it is supposed to be possible to load up your mixer in your DAW into Mcompare, plus a reference track. I want to use that reference track while I am mixing, before mastering. Any idea how to load these things up in a proper way?
I suspect I am doing wrong somehow.

Put MCompare on your master bus. It should be the last plugin before sound comes out of your speakers. Now load the songs you want to reference into MCompare. Hit play in your DAW and while your song is playing push the buttons with the reference tracks in MCompare and you should hear them. Be careful with your volume though, if you mix at a low level like I do, a reference track can be much louder than your mix.

Thanks man! I will try it and see how it goes. FL Studio always have a limiter as default, as the last plugin on the master bus. I never moved the limiter, but I will try and put Mcompare there instead. Perhaps that could be one reason.Chandlerhimself wrote:Put MCompare on your master bus.
