There is already a panning slider for each tap - you have max and low frequency range per instance - in MXXX you could run as many delay in parallel as your CPU would handle and add individual filters for each instance.Svama wrote:Thanks for fast replay and what about panning and hp/lp filters for each of these?
FR: Please add diffusion option in MMultiBandDelay

+ 1 for diffusion either in this plugin or something else that can be used in MXXX. Preferably with either compensation for the time of the diffusion (so that is automatically subtracted from temposynced delaytimes) and/or temposynced diffusion times.

It's there. For filters there's min frequency and max frequency + resonance. Also there´s free choice of filtering input or feedback. EDIT: this is per band, not for each tap within that band but at least within each band. And as you've possibly realised panorama takes care of the panning.Svama wrote:a hp/lp filter for every delay band without using mxxx would be nice?!

I think for delay it just means blurring the repeats, so it sounds more like a reverb. I was just experimenting with MXXX and came up with something very similar. I used a delay and then added 2 comb filters after it. I modulated some of the combfilter freq slightly and then for more movement added Mwobbler before the delay to add some extra movement. It didn't sound exactly like NI replica, but it was pretty close for 15 min of work and the CPU usage was less than half. If anyone wants to hear it I'll post a clip comparing them.MeldaProduction wrote:Hmmm, I quite don't follow, what would "diffusion" do in a delay? It makes sense in a reverb, but I don't see a sense here.
Personally I don't think I would use the feature that much, but it would nice to have. All you need to do is add 6 to 8 combfilters to the delay outputs and it will get you really close. Modulate them and bit and you'll get even closer. I think the real problem would be redesigning the GUI to make room for the new controls and tuning the combfilters so they don't ring like old tin cans.

I have to admit that I also do not quite understand why there should be a diffuse-option inside a delay. It would just turn the delay into a reverb, or am I wrong?

There is black, there is white and there are all the grey bits in between which are the most interesting.

Hmmm, sorry Sampleconstruct, but that just sounds like a reverb before/after the delay, exactly as I said. Diffusion mimics the realworld behaviour reverbs try to simulate. Delays don't simulate anything. There there's nothing "grey" about the diffusion
. There is probably infinite things you can do with delays, it's just impossible to implement all of them
. In fact, every static process, filter and stuff like that IS a delay!

No it doesn't - I know how a reverb pre/post delay sounds, the transition from a non-diffused delay line to a diffused one in conjunction with a diffusion size parameter makes for many different sounds in between a delay line and a reverb (as demonstrated in my UberMod video), adding some modulation to delay time makes it even more interesting.MeldaProduction wrote:Hmmm, sorry Sampleconstruct, but that just sounds like a reverb before/after the delay, exactly as I said. But in some aspects you are just very fixed in your views, so let's close this discussion as it is leading nowhere.

Btw I just checked and to me it looks like reverb in a feedback. Impulse response pretty confirms that.

Condescension? Come on, why should I feel superior to you in any way and where in my posts did I condescend to you? I have already understood that delay diffusion doesn't interest you and I wasn't asking for every feature by every other developer but for one particular feature implemented by Vojtech in one of his plug-ins, just forget about it, too many words have been written already.MeldaProduction wrote:Well, enlighten meSampleconstruct wrote: But in some aspects you are just very fixed in your views, so let's close this discussion as it is leading nowhere.. What it does? There's really no need for condescendence
. I simply cannot implement every feature every other developer added to their plugins...
