Yep, both runs fine side by side.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

A. The installer and download process are horrible. The installer should let users specify a location, and the downloads have no excuse for being this slow in this day and age. At least for a company of Arturia's size. Amazon's web hosting service will scale up or down as needed, which is something Arturia should have looked into.
What plugins are you referring to? I was able to put the vst's where i wanted them to be (the vst2, x64 ones, the rest i don't need)
It wasn't clear to me how to do that. When I ran the installer it told me where they were going but either didn't allow me to change the location, or how to do so wasn't obvious. The only customization options I had were which plugins to install. Having read through this thread a few other folks ran into this too. Either way, that's the least of my gripes.

What kind of OS are you on?

In Windows 10, I have no problem to change the folder to put the VST

What is annoying is that the installer install up to four duplicate files of the dll in the ProgramData folder :x

FYI on the mac, the complete package of installers is 6.5GB.

A really big part of it is the high resolution pictures for the different sizes of the GUIs.

Here is a quick and dirty video I put together comparing the Mini from 4 to 5.

There are 3 sections to the video: 1. similar settings, 2. similar sound, 3. with drums for context.

Wouldn't it be better to use vector graphics?

To compare, u-he plugs have several settings for gui size, without the installer file becoming humongus :?

Wow. What makes the package so large?

Edit: comment crossed; thanks fmr!

*Better* in some ways (eg storage space) but it's much harder and more resource intensive to do intricate gui's if you are rendering on the fly - most vector gui's are flat and simple to draw because of this.

The new interface isn't updating all the time...the key presses are missed.
I have no idea what is what. I find one is more quiet compared to the other. So it is difficult to compare them

Analog Lab v2 gui compared to v1 is just that :D

To mimick the vintage synths, vector graphics would be impossible - you really need photographic panels. And they look much better than U-He synths (IMO) Totally different style GUIs. Usually, vector GUIs are flat, boring and ugly.

I matched the peak levels between them but not the measured loudness. should be close enough to draw a comparison.

In that case they are different for sure. Don't know which one i like more. Some further testing with high resonance and pulses would result in a defenitive answer.

What is your opinion? Which one do you prefer?

Well, i like presswerk, satin and repro (the newer ones...) over these new arturia skins. They scale better, have good zoom level and all the text is just good visible. In contrast to arturia's.
