The above mentioned Voxengo Oldskoolverb is great...

This is also a very high-quality free reverb:

Freeverb 3 is the best sounding free reverb, hands down - the ProG variant, anyway. It's annoying to find the right download sometimes and it's UI sorta sucks, but it rivals the commercial reverbs. Ambiance is second in my book. Luckily both of them are cross-platform.

Ok, I had time to finish a track for OSC for the first time in a while. Went for a pretty dark and gritty vibe this time around.

Just a reminder, you have downloads disabled - so your beautiful works are only heard in 128kbps :( :( Don't make the world sad... enable downloads now!

Man, that's really cool!

And thanks for pointing out those JS effects. I never dip into that area! I'll have to try some of those.

Post

Man... those JS FX are SUPER handy!! Good sound, all have low CPU, easy to automate. It's perfect when you either are on a time crunch, have an older/weaker computer or just need "that" effect really quick with no fuss.

A lot of people may think because there are so many & the footprint is so small that they don't matter. However, in my opinion, it's one of the best reasons to use Reaper.

I've really only used them for MIDI stuff, although I have used the ReEQ & reComp.

Maybe I've avoided them because the UI is so flashy. :)

It's been a while since I was here...and my song is finished. Do most of you upload as an 320 kbps MP3, or 16-bit WAV? I am thinking for the others to download, it would take a good deal of time, especially if it is a WAV, but Soundcloud compresses it worse, so WAV would sound better when they play it back on SC...right? :?

Examigan wrote:... upload as an 320 kbps MP3, or 16-bit WAV?
256 kbps MP3 seems to work just fine.

I will try that, thanks :)

I'll have to resubmit my post. it's been made aware that I have some clipping & distortion going on. Unfortunately, I only have a free account, so I'll have to resubmit. Sorry :-(
