Changing the time signature (4/4 to 3/4 etc) during a song.

Hi everyone.
I'm a newbie to Tracktion and am trialing the Demo Version 1.5.1.6, with a view to registering it if it does what I want.

Am I able to change the beats per bar, midway through a song (eg. from 4/4 time to 3/4 time)? If so, how do I do it?

If not, is there any prospect of doing this in Version 2 that I hear is coming soon?

-- (I know that you can change the tempo, but I'm interested in changing the time signature) --

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can - just put the cursor where you want the change, click the tempo (above the play button) and change it to your new time signature.

Thanx Bastien for your reply.

I tried what you suggested, but it changes the whole song (project), as it did when I tried the same thing once before...

(Just to confirm that the purple vertical line - which I would call the song position pointer - is what you are calling the "cursor")

BTW, are you using the v1.5.1.6 demo build?

It's not a matter of using the demo or not - the demo is limited in other ways.

You should do as bastien told you. But *before* you change the signature and/or tempo you should push the lower left button called "insert tempo change at cursor". *Then* you change the values according to your needs.

EDIT: To avoid any confusions: Yes - "Cursor" = Song Position Pointer!

That did the trick! Using the specifics of "insert tempo change at cursor" was what I needed.

Tracktion is looking better every time I use it!

Thanx Crossfinger!
