Tip of the Day:

Most (all?) of the plug-ins have a bank of 8 presets, on the right-hand side of the GUI, labelled A to H.

Now, these are not available as a plug-in automation parameter. But you can select any of them by sending a MIDI Program Change message to the plug-in.

A PC message with a value of 0 selects A, 7 selects H, 8 selects A and so on.

Or, if you want to select from more than 8 presets, you can put a bunch of the plug-in's presets into a particular folder and select any of them from there using a PC message. Click [MIDI] then the "Preset switch" tab and look at "Program change in presets".

Does anybody have an idea what could be the problem? I tried sending program change and bank select, but none works.

Which plugin? Did you enable it?

As far as I understand the documentation it need not be activated, it always is? I understand it always should witch between snapshots A-H upon receiving Program Change events, unless you specify a folder for actual preset switching. I also tried activating the upper panel and switch using Bank Change events, but no reaction either :-/

Correct - there's no need to do anything special for the A-H presets, just send a Program Change message (no need for Bank Selects either).

MUnison responds correctly here. Which host are you using? Are the PC messages actually getting to the plug-in?

I'm using Cubase. Everything should be routed correctly, though there is no way to check for me whether Midi events reach the plugin.

Can you not put a MIDI Monitor (insertpizhere does a good one) immediately in front of (or instead of) MUnison?

Midi Monitor displays the events.

Edit: I just see events are sent on channel 2 for whatever reason. I'll check if that is the reason

Strange though that in the midi track editor, Program Change is displayed on the data track

however when I open the list, bank select msb is selected. Strange thing.

Just tried do control some parameter with Midi CCs, that works fine. So there is some problem with Program Change data. I checked the Midi filters in Cubase' preferences, and it seems fine, Program Change data should be received and sent.

I see that those PC messages are on MIDI Channel 02 - is MUnison receiving that channel (does Cubase control which channels a plug-in receives)?

Can you export that MIDI item with the PC messages in it and attach it here (Zipped up?) so we can have a look?

Checked once again, preset switching using Bank Select event works. But still no success with the snapshots slots.
